Only in Puerto Rico do they come up with funeral viewings like this. Before this it was a house party setting viewing with guy leaning agaisnt wall as if chillin enjoying the party with sunglasses on.

I've actually seen the guy standing in the corner during one of my classes. It was pretty cool.

For all you guys saying something like this is wack, it's totally not. As an embalmer and having worked in a funeral home for a few years, I've seen some crazy stuff, and based on the grade of my own work, am not easily impressed by some of the sub-standard work that comes out in the US, and am definately not impressed by the PR funeral homes present some of their "clients."
That said, I'm really impressed by this. The amount of time and planning for something like this to work with an embalmed body is pretty intense. Not to mention, they would have had to embalm him in that position! (Tissue fixates during and immediately after the embalming process). I'm still trying to figure out the dynamics of this, between the issues of gravity filtration and fluid distribution, not to mention a ton of other hassles that occur in "regular" casework. In addition, the cosmetics they used are spot on and the arrangement of his clothing is pretty decent also.
As an industry, we try very, very hard to give a grieving family what they want and need to help them and their family and friends cope. This is just another way to do it. Funeral personalization is more popular than ever, and the suit and tie don't do it for everyone. I'm just proud that someone out there took this kind of job on and are able to present it in an awesome fashion.
