Since my ignition is awful in the FC, is the Nology PowerCore a good investment? I found it for 65 shipped, which seems like a decent deal for everything it claims to improve.
Let me know if youve had any luck, and if this price seems right to you.

I use 8.5mm MSD wires now part number 32919 and I think they have been great. I thought when I first put them on I felt an improvment, I've had them for about 5 years! I would recomend them.
Haven't heard to many FC's running the Nology wires. Where did you find them for 65 shipped? Summit has them for 160 bucks!! Just from reading they sound like interesting wires.
Usually alot of RX7 guys that I know of usually just run the regular NGK wires.
I've also heard of people using Magnecore, RE Ameymia, Bosch. There are others, but I can't remember the others right now. I think Racing Beat also?

Be sure to read this first when deciding your wires. I just found this on TeamFC3s. Our spark plugs are resistor type.

I might just stick with what I got just a newer set or maybe some magnecors.

The nology powercore isnt a wire, its an ignition amplifier module:

Oh and I am using NGK wires now... When Jim did the tuneup i belive he used NGK plugs as well. I just thought that any ignition assistance wouldnt hurt ;)

Jerry,
The nology wires don't work well. The problem is in order to produce that bigger spark it does so by holding power in a capacitor and then discharging it all at once a little later. So the overall energy sent to the combustion chamber is actually the same BUT the delay causes problems with timing.
This was shown a while back in DSMs. In fact, the best wires out there for DSMs are NGK, stock and some might say, Magnecores (although they can be problematic as well).
Ignition boxes are usually not needed till the motor is actually producing a significant amount more power than stock due to higher compression motors or more boost At least that is true for DSMs. Of course, rotaries are weird and I just found out they actually mix oil with their gas so I have no idea.

Sorry Jeff for some reason I thought you where talking about the wires. I know Rxtasy was using that for a awhile on TeamFC3s.org. Late night...
Yeah after reading around the Magnecor site it realy turned me of to the Nology wires. I'm real happy with MSD wires that I have now. I've had the set for around five years and have been on 2 cars that I have owned. You can't go wrong with a good set of NGK's though.
Oh and I'm using the Jacobs FC1000 ignition system and I'm very happy with the ignition. http://www.rotaryheads.com/modifications/FC1000/
I don't have to much info on the one from Nology. The stock leading igniter should be fine though for what you have now. They say the stock ignition system is good to 400 horsepwer. The 3rd gen guys use our leading coils as upgrades for theirs.
