I just bought some kyb agx adjustable shocks for my 92 civic. I've been calling around places and getting price estimates. The answers that ive been getting pricewise are a little out of my budget ($300 minimum). Granted I know im going to have to get an alignment done but is installing adjustable shocks something that a group of people could possible help me out with? I'm just doing some investigating to see if this is something that I could save money on or if I should just go ahead and have a shop do it. I'd be willing to throw in some beer to sweeten the deal. If this isnt something that could be done outside of a shop, any suggestions for a shop that would possibly do it for a reasonable price would be greatly appreciated.

Do you think this is something that could be knocked out in a day?

I think Rob did his with his dad in like 6 hours...without a lift which is cool. We have done installs on me and my buddy's cars pretty quickly...Headers took about 2 hours, test pipe about 1 hour and exhaust was a bitch cause of rusted bolts.

we usually bull**** to much too...We could probably get it done, I know I am getting coilovers soon so we are gonna have to do it one time or another.

Would a Saturday or Sunday usually work best? If so, lets see if we can find one that works, figure out the beer of choice and gitr done

Do it yourself. Read over the procedure and get familiar with it. My friend and I did his civic w/lift in 3 hours and I did my eclipse in my driveway in 7 w/ a hour trip to the dealer. Start on a Saturday just incase something goes wrong and you need some time to work on it.

are you planning on lowering it in the future? if so just hold on on the struts, its stupid to compress the spring, to take the old strut off, and the recompress the spring on the new strut if your just going to get lowering springs a few months down the road. lowering springs dont need to be compressed to be put on the strut, making the job alot easier.

I'm not planning to lower the car anytime soon. I'm keeping it stock height for autocross purposes. Lowering the car will just get me bumped up to a class where I will get destroyed.

u might wanna check and see if the bolts are rusted at all. i also have a 92 hatch. the fronts came off no problem but the backs were rusted and i had some problems. i still need to put coilovers on the back. spray all the bolts with wd-40 or something to try loosen them up before u get started. u prolly wont have a problem if u are using air tools...

Do you know of somewhere we possibly could do this since I live in a townhouse and don't have a garage or driveway? Just let me know what your schedule is like. I have school m-f but im not at school all day except Tuesday and weekends are usually pretty open for me. Here is my class schedule:

M 1-2:40 pm
T 10-11:40 am and 1:30-5:30 pm
W 1-2:40 pm
T 10-11:40 am
F 9-11:45 am

I appreciate your offer to help.
Joe
