How's the car buying market right now from dealers?

I've decided to go with a 05/06 GTO for my next car. I like the seats, I like the LS2 6.0L powerband, and the fact that many places can install a cam for me without breaking a sweat.

My question to the group who have purchased cars lately is how are dealers reacting to people who come in with cash / no financing need through them? I've seen many GTOs from 26,000 down to 15,999. The question is how low can you go? Any adivce from anyone would be greatly appreicated. Also if anyone knows of any hidden GTOs on some lot not being advertised, I'll kick you a little something if I purchase your car.

I'm looking for Silver or Black with Black Leather......just throwing it out there.

Well I'm sure you could work a better deal with a new car then a used because there is usually more room to play

there was a sick supercharged gto on here for like 19k if you got the dough but im with svickstc on this one id say stay used i tried to buy an ap1 s2k from the local honda dealership nd the thing had some crappy dual coffee can exhaust nd a tear in the soft top nd they wouldnt budge on the 11k price tag but as svickstc said used would be the way to go because usually people sellin used cars are lookin to get rid of relativly fast so you would have room to play

Looks like most the black ones are sitting in jersey right now. Re-sale on these things are in the toilet so you shouldnt have to much trouble lol.

Dealers don't care if you pay cash or a loan, either way they get paid. They probally get a kickback form preferred banks if they get you to use them. I don't see any reason you can't find one with about 30-40k miles for about $15k.

There are alot of them for sale. Let me know if you need help finding one or checking one out. There are a few common things to look for when buying.

I was offered $10k trade in for my 04 w/ 53k miles towards a new Camaro 2SS.

depends what year it was, you might not get 22k for it resale but the 05-06s seem to sell in the 18-22k bracket. My buddy at work is selling his 06 with 19,000 on it for 20k but its Red but it does have the premium package lol.

Thanks for the heads up everyone. I did a search and I would like silver or black. But some of these prices are off the wall, some cars that have over 30K miles those dealers want 21k-22k just like the dealers who are selling cars with mileage in the teens. Either these cars are really desirable or all of these dealers want these cars on the lots forever.

there good guys let me take the car out by my self they seem to pick up all there's gtos with basically th same miles lol. 18-19k on them for 21 grand. I was able to walk out of there with the car for 21 lol.

I'd like to get something below 20K. Some of these dealers have been sitting on these cars over 9 months from the date they got them from auction. Not sure what to expect since I've seen dealers bite of their noses to spite their face.

Buy mine 46K miles. Give me 19. Already has intake, exhaust, tune. Pioneer Avic d3 in dash nav/dvd/ipod, HID's and some suspension goodies. Im sure other stuff im forgetting

Yeah my brothers going nuts trying to find a black 2nd gen too. He's got one of his companys auction guys looking for him. After about a month I think he might have a lead on an 06 though it's got 55k on it an needs some tlc they still want 21k for it. Though about 2 weeks ago we went up to one of there dealers to test drive an 07 an that thing ripped I wanted to follow him out in te GTO but that would have been alittle too suspsious they were already nice enough to throw us the keys.
