My question is, is there or will there ever be, a system where police can remotely kill/immobilize a car? I know there has been talk of OnStar equipping there vehicles with a system that will allow police to shut the car equipped with OnStar off through satellite or something of that sort.. But i was just curious
Google "HPEMS" pretty cool yet scary

I've read some articles and came across some hearsay about this topic. From what I gather its in testing phases now. Don't quote me on it but I think I remember reading something where some agency is using this technology.
To be honest it would be a great tool. If executed at the appropriate times. IE: not when the car is about to go around a 90 degree turn
I remember when I was a kid watching the worlds wildest police videos and they had a segment about a rocket powered remote controlled car that shot out from under the front bumper and shot a jolt of electricity into the other car to kill it, never seen one used or heard much more about it. I do agree having something that just turns the car off would be kickass, eliminate lots of collateral damage
