Here is a comparison of the new turbo and the turbo I just pulled off of the car. The old turbo (on the right) is a PTE5031e, basically a 50 trim. The new turbo is slightly bigger...

The picture size is pretty big, my apologies...

I think that turbo could suck up squirrels running across the street. New meaning to road kill.

It is a holset turbo out of a 5.9 ram with a custom turbine housing...
It is pretty new as far as DSM's go so I hope to see what it can really do. There aren't many specs floating around on the turbo as holset keeps most of that to themselves. It is basically a 70 trim... It won't spool till late but I should have a lot of powerband to use.
I wouldn't dare run it without a filter for fear of eating small animals. The turbo kit I made for my mx6 had the compressor inlet just in front of the wheel well... That puppy could have definitely taken out a squirrel or two.

That 90 degree bend after the outlet isn't helping your cause at all.
She is a big snail though.

you should put that next to my stock wrx turbo... then you will see how my turbo spools a bajillion times earlier than yours. lets please not talk about any other differences between our turbos :finga:

The 90 degree is on the 50 Trim.
Either way though, there's gotta be a 90 degree elbow. No other way to get the piping in.

That was on the old turbo, there is no real option for pipe routing on the bigger turbos on the dsm's. It wasn't a problem on that turbo and I don't expect it to be a problem on the new one. It will be pushing enough air that it won't bother it that much... :D
