Don't get 10k / 8k spring rates unless your a sucker for punishment. :)

10k/8k is manageable considering the mustang chassis is a bit more robust. Wont be as bad as 10k/8k on a rolla haha

i just know my car needs better components and these cost the same as lowering springs + shocks and are fully adjustable

Don't mind me I'm just a big whiner. I got the 10k / 8k 's on my WRX because its a weekend car and they are amazing on back roads. The highway is a completely different story. Between the 18" wheels and higher spring rates my car catches air over big bumps on the highway.

Those would be your spring rates. The amount of force it takes to compress your spring. Higher spring rate = stiffer ride. The standard BC's for the WRX come with 8k / 6k, pretty close to what you're getting for your mustang. BC lets you choose your spring rates when you purchase the coilovers so I opted for the next step up since its a weekender.

what is your opinion on the company and their product? Seems like domestic guys haven't heard of them before so they're not very helpful :) Just getting the usual, "Roush has a trak pak" and "i've never heard of coilovers on a mustang... there are so many good options out there without them"

Ryan (Area1320) runs BC's on his car, that has to say something about the quality of them. A lot of the subaru guys were running them, that's why I picked them up. Great setup if your not looking to spend 1500 - 2000 on KW's or Bilsteins.

I love mine, even stiff they are soooo great on back roads. :)

Positives: They're inexpensive, they can be rebuilt for little cost.
Negatives: They might be a little bouncy depending how you set it up as opposed to say KW's I've ridden in.

Really, they're bang for your buck coilovers. If you're not trying to get super serious with trackdays or time attack for street use they should do fine. I've ridden in Ryan's car and it tracks really nice. It might be a tad rough at times but with your heavier car I would think they would kind of balance out.

All in all the Subaru community loves these coilovers and they sell like crazy so they must be worth it :) I plan on installing some this spring hopefully and seeing how they ride in my 08.

hmm... i do plan on autocrossing quite a bit this season... though, we'll see if time permits. but i'd really like to. Ultimately i'm not looking for coilovers to just lower the car. But i am looking for coilovers that will be good on the street and be able to handle a weekend run once a month or so and hold up.

more than likely i'll only hit up like warminster and maybe a hershey autocross... the bigger solo tracks.

These coilovers will be sufficient for casual autox. Mine have held up for 30k of DD just fine.

got ya. they sound like a good choice then. i'm certainly not a good enough driver to be able to take advantage of a $3,000 set of coilovers to shave that little bit of time off... i've got sway bars on order, gonna pick up an adjustable panhard bar and keep tossing some money into savings to bring the car on over.

You definitely are going ot the wrong mustang forums then. Try the S197 forums at s197forum.com There are quite a few autocrossers, racers, and track day drivers there. Sam Strano, the guy that won many national and divisional events in his mustangs posts in the handling forums regullarly.

It's budget. You have a year of free replacements, after which it costs $95 for an entirely new coilover. That places the shock value around ~$35.

Be careful with the Mustang application and these. BC doesn't always select the right spring rates for each application off the shelf. I would consult with the Mustang community to see what front/rear bias to run on the car. BC will then match those rates and revalve their shocks for you.

Do your homework and you'll be happy. I ran them on my old STi for over 20k before upgrading to revalved KWs. They're good for budget, light autox and backroads although I was able to overheat mine. They lack strut travel but with the right spring rates, you won't notice that over most roads.

Most importantly, if you buy them from AREA1320 you're getting a great local source of assistance with the product and setup.:cool:
