Why you should wear a seatbelt!

Long story short.

-Person loses control of car
-Car goes off 8-10ft embankment
-Lands in persons driveway and smashes into their parked car
-Celica flips over.

If you are on here, I pray to god you are okay.

It appears the person was not wearing their seatbelt. Looking at the passenger compartment they would have been fine if they were.

i understand why you're posting this. and i always where my seatbelt b/c it does save lives... but i don't think it is your business to be posting these pictures on the forum.

i'm honestly not sure if i'd be upset or not if they were of my car, which is why i bring it up.

my brother and his wife both hit their heads of my bros windshield... spider webs in both spots but there was no blood.. this could have been much worse though

The car is now the insurance companys, plus its no different than taking pics of a car in the junk yard. I never posted the persons name. My guess is the person bounced around the car, there is blood everywhere. Headliner, back seat, dash, door panels ect.

i know way to many drunken rednecks that would be dead if they wore seatbelts... so im still on the ropes of whats better... in serious accidents its really like a 45% chance it will help but how about all those times when the drivers cabin is destroyed and the drunk guy is layin 150ft away still laughin about his crazy ride...

explain further more, but i dont see what differance it makes, drunk or sober and seat belt or no seat belt. no two accidents are the same so the varibles in a given situation will allways be differant. also common sense dose play a big factor ie; being responisbile and wearing it, and not driving drunk, but again, accidents happen and the situation will allways be differant

besides... a seatbelt in a minor accident is going to save you from getting ****ed up by the airbag

During a collision in my first car, an '84 Camaro, where I had my seatbelt on I sustained pretty bad whiplash.

Now, when I was in a collision in my 300C SRT-8 I did NOT have my seatbelt on and was treated to a soft landing in an airbag and suffered no injuries other than a bump on my shin.

Both were frontal collisions at roughly the same velocity.

It all depends on the type of collision.

damn, i just lost a good friend in a car accident and his son was seriously injured,they were involved in a head on collsion,the other driver was also killed. both my friends had seat belts on. i wish i had pics of there car. it was a 96 nissan 200sx.

there is seriously no excuse ever for not wearing a seatbelt. It saved me when I wrecked my jeep at about 40mph. I walked away not even dazed.

Couldnt agree more. My buddy has been in two serious accidents, both times without a seatbelt, and has walked away both times. He uses this as justification for not wearing one ever. The first accident he cracked the windsheild with his face. Easily preventable with a seabelt. The second one he rolled his truck. No seatbelt, and the seat wasnt even bolted in. I think he's extremely extremely lucky, especially that he wasnt thrown from the vehicle.

I've been in once accident that was minor enough that I stopped myself by bracing my arms on the steering wheel.. didnt even use the seatbelt. But I always wear it.

Theres no reason not to. I wear it regularly, and I dont even notice it being there anymore. I feel weird if I dont put it on. For something thats saved so many lives, I cant believe people are still too lazy to put it on.

In that tank of a car, you were fine but imagine the Probe which has no air bags, my car which has terrible crash safety ratings, my parent's car, or your (RIP) truck.

While I do always wear my seatbelt on two seperate occasions I've seen accidents were the seatbelt partially decapitated the driver...

The driver came into the shop today to get his belongings out of the car. It looked like he was hurting for sure. He has to wear a hat due to the horrid cut on his head. None the less he is alive.

i had my belt on in my 35mph crash and had i not had it on, i would have been right through the windshield. i'll continue to wear it and deal with some potential whiplash. ****ing idiots. oh and daewoo, you're a sped too.
