You probably cant give much information on jersey but I was pulled over when driving very early in the morning coming home from working on my friends car.
After passing the state trooper I was followed for a few miles and he pulled me over because I "failed to maintain my lane" which was completely bogus and then proceeded with assurance that I had been drinking. Fully sober I kept denying and he made me do four sobriety tests.
After passing them all perfectly fine he made me stare at his finger moving around for a minute at least concluding that my eyes told him I was under some kind of influence. I mean come on it's 2 A.M. I worked all day im going to bed.
He asks if I still will deny, I reply yes and they cuff me and take me for a breathalyzer at the station. I blew 0.00 TWICE totaling about 6 breath samples.

Anyway I went to court thinking it was fine and would be dropped as I was TOLD. The judge basically said I was crazy not bringing a lawyer so I inquired which leaves me in the same spot since they all want 3 thousand up front. How the heck can there even be a case!? Shouldn't I be able to go back and request a public defendant and they can take care of it since my ticket even says " driving under the influence BAC 0.00"? I just dont see how this is even a case.

how long was it from the time they field tested you and the time you took the breath test?

somethings screwy that doesnt make much sense to me, not much I can offer you talking to a lawyer is your best chance to clear things up

Yeah I talked to a lwayer who obviously wants my money but after reading about what can happen for first offenders in my case, it should be cheaper even if i'm guilty.

But the time from field sobriety to the actual breath samples was about 45 minutes I would estimate. My parents are furious as I am too, but unfortunately this could be one of those corrupted things which I have no power over.
