I was a valet for years for the largest company in NJ and drove everything under the sun. I, nor anybody else working with me ever abused a car or did anything like in that video. Valet parking is a great service and I'll still do it wherever I go. A video of a bunch of knuckleheads who should have been beaten more at chilidren shouldn't change how you view the service.

I've always used valet, then again I rarely give them a car I care about aside from the 2 times I had my brothers S55 AMG. It is a good service, and chances are there aren't many idiots doing the work simply because of the kind of cars that come through most valet services. Unfortunately it does happen, but you can't have 2-3 bad ones across the country taint the thousands of others.

I did valet in philly while I was in college part-time on the weekends. Can't speak for the other drivers but when I drove customer cars I did watch out for pot holes and made sure I was a good distance away from the curb etc. That doesn't mean the cars don't get pushed since our objective is to get it parked as fast as possible.

Some tips/reminders

-never leave cash or personal items within view (cell phones/cameras/etc). read the disclaimer on your ticket stub.
-if you go clubbing/partying and come out at 2am don't expect to have your car in 5 minutes. everyone is out at that time.
-if you have a kill switch let the driver or attendant know. there were so many times we couldnt get a car started.
-flat tires are not our problem
-check your car as soon it arrives. we actually mark all damages on our ticket stub. we are not responsible for any damages after you leave our site.
-hit your attendant with a nice tip he will keep you close and bring it back faster

I saw a valet do a huge burnout in this bentley azure when this cool valet took me down to the garage to see all the insane cars at a hotel in Monterey ca. Since then I never let Valet have my car.

Video reminds me of my holiday. Got a rental cobalt and it just so happened to snow in the mid-west. I played rally driver all weekend. Got it stuck in a ditch 3 times but don't think I did any damage to the car. Get the extra insurance on the car and go to town.

Simple time=money. if you take your jolly old time to get to the lot and park the car you lose more turns to bring cars back which means less tip. there's 20-30 cars on deck at the busy times. during new years it's crazy. we would have 20+ drivers working NYE.

Wow, I can relate to this. I had the same thing happen to me when I had my SRT-4. When I pulled up to a wedding I was attending the kid came up and asked if it was a Stg 3 and how he liked the huge FMIC. Long story short I get a call from a friend at cocktail hour and asks why was I racing and speeding on a known trouble spot. I ran outside and the valets turned bright white. Sure enough I watched the kid pull in with my car and informed him that that he had 2 options. Choice one would be to tell me to go f**K myself and get an ass kicking along with him losing his job. Choice two would be to get back in my car with me in it and fill up my tank for my trip back to PA. After a million apologies and $30.00 in gas I told him I would let it go because the person who called me said you were just having fun and not "trashing" the car. With a cool head and back at the wedding I told him to be more responsible next time. I advised him that if you really wanted to try a car responsibly, next time ask the owner as a courtsey if he would like you to fill his car up with gas. My buddy who was a valet would not only get money to fill up the car, but would get a tip for being nice and another tip for getting the car later on.

There's a right way and a wrong way, not all valets are a-holes.

I don't think anyone could ever convince me to valet any car I will ever own. I don't care if I'm in a cocktail dress for a wedding in the dead of winter, and have to walk 15 minutes with my stilettos in my hand to get back to the building. That's fine. I'LL park my own car.

Brandon has to beg me to drive my G, and even still, he's only been behind the wheel of it three times. The only person I'll let drive it without question is my father. And now that I think about it .. B and my father ARE the only people, other than myself, to have driven my G.

I was just as psychotic about my MSP. I'll probably always be that psychotic about my cars. Can't help it. I just don't have any faith in people to respect another person's property.

im iffy on valet's. ive used them once or twice. the most recent time was at harrah's casino. and the attendent kept stalling the car. i even told them that its got an after market clutch( 6puck) and it was tricky if you never drove one of these before. so after a few times, i walked over and parked the car myself in the valet spot. another time at philly park, it was completley fine.
however i am a straigh no for valet's in AC. the were parking my uncles suv when we were down there one time and when the suv came back to us, the whole passenger side of the car was straped end to end, mirror busted off, etc. like the basically drove it scraping the side of the parking garage wall. they did send him a nice check to get the car fixed and he some money left over.

Yes sir, Cobb AP comes with an OTS Valet map. Also most tuners will give you a Valet map free of charge since it's quite generic and ez to make. My tuner calls them "cripple maps". :cool:
