Well I was about to buy a motor from JDMENGINEZONE and I had one on hold to pick up tomorrow.. They sold it... they offered me a JDM D16A claiming its a better motor and I can drop it all in without a problem and that I wont even have to retune.. I dont trust them at this point.

JDMENGINEDEPOT seems to be hit or miss.. I see people saying stay away and I also see people who have ran motors for 5+ years from there.

I'm going there tomorrow because they have 10 jdm d15b's in stock and they encourage me to pick my own and check it every way possible. I am even getting a good deal on it.

Does anyone know if I should just get the d16a?

I think there were something stronger about the a6 crankshaft.

Close. It's not the crankshaft that's stronger, it's the girdle. The A6 has an iron girdle. :)

Both are good engines, but IMO you're better of with a SOHC ZC or Z6.

well I'm back from engine depot with a d15b...

The motor seemed very clean... No oil stains around gaskets and seals.. no leaks that I could find anywhere.. it was a little oxidized like it was under a tarp outside or something, but over all it looks good.

I'm going to clean it up as much as I can today and pull the useless **** off it.

I need to go to harbor freight and get a good heater for my garage along with 12 point ratchet set and a 32mm socket...

Anyone know about the clutch alignment tools for these?

I'm just swapping the trans with the clutch still on it.. I've never done it before.
