reason to search

Say a friend of mine was driving around and got pulled over for something not that serious, like tint or something. And he was a younger guy like 17-18, and he smokes a pipe. a tobacco pipe. hes has it on the seat and the cop sees it. is an officer going to suspect drug use with the pipe? and is that reason for the officer to search, say in the trunk or something?

If a cop saw a pipe in your car your probably goona get searched.. but if your clean you have nothing to worry about.... A cop cannot go into the trunk w/o super super probable cause.. you need a warrent for that.. say u get stopped and the cop asks you if he can look in the trunk and you say no and he goes anyway and finds 15 bricks of coke.. it will get suppressed in court due to improper search and seisure... BUT.... if you get pulled over and the cop hears someone kicking and screaming in the trunk and opens and finds a person bound and gagged... your done...
