My first guess is a worn O2 sensor. I thought I recently saw an add that said most sensors should be replaced at 60k.

You could always put a meter to it to test if it is reacting quick enough. Keep in mind an o2 sensor will read 0-~1V and needs to fluctuate btw the two at idle.

I would also replace the plugs with properly gapped NGKs. Copper plugs need to be replaced every 14k miles on cars driven nicely or sooner if you tend to beat the car and or run cheap gas. Cap, rotor and wires would be good to do as well if you haven't done then in the last 30k. Btw, if you see any kind of rusty looking dust near the distributor cap's bearings then you need to replace the bearing too. It was a known problem with Hondas.

Might as well replace the air filter or get a K&N air filter if you don't already have one too. Btw, the foam filters suck unless they are made by HKS. But then again I hear the HKS units tend to disintegrate, too, so they suck as well, lol.

Need a little more info. What mods, how many miles do you have, etc. If you are still stock, it could simply be the plugs like “2point4” stated. You should upgrade to a better spark plug too.

FYI, I’m running with a Venom 400 Performance control module (dumps more fuel into the mix) along with a JET ECU. My exhaust is pretty clean at 227,000 miles. With a set of decent plugs and wires, it runs pretty clean. To be on the safe side, I only run 93 Octane because of the JET ECU.

Depending on your miles, the head gasket might be on it’s way out. You’ll know because one or more of your plugs maybe a little bit oily.

If you stick with the simple, general maintenance stuff, your Honda should pretty much run forever. I’ve got mods, and have been from here to Virginia, to the Carolinas, to Atlanta, and back countless times, and the thing never stops running.

Headgasket problems usually show up as mysterious loss of coolant and or white smoke out the tailpipe AFTER the car has warmed up.

If you are getting oil on your plugs then it is probably the gaskets around the spark plug wells. Even a head that is severely leaking at the valves stems won't show that much on the plugs.

I agree with Wil
check plugs, wires, and replace o2 IMO

If the plugs or wires were the only problems and they were bad enough that the car ran really rich then your car should also be acting up a bit. Loss of power, bad idle, hesitation at WOT or cruise, hard starting would be the common ones.

all i have done to the exaust is the header a new flex pipe and the muffler i was thinkin its the cat or the fuel injection system i know its not the o2 sensor because i just replaced that like 5 months ago and the plugs may be fouled up i dunno but because there platnum plugs so i dunno

i've definately switched plugs and wires and had my gas mileage significantly change.

I had a feeling, however, that oily plugs could be a possible problem. I’ve run into other Accord owners with similar symptoms.
