I have read a lot of posts where you have mentioned that various (in fact, all) modifications are illegal. How can this be? Most of the quality aftermarket parts are DOT and emissions legal. Also, it must be legal for manufacturers, mechanics, wholesalers, and retailers, to deal in these parts. After all, they are all part of a LEGITIMATE multi-billion $$$ industry. Stands to reason that if the parts are legal; and the industry that fabricates, sells, installs, and services these parts is legal; then, it should follow that, modifying one's vehicle with said parts would be legal. Assuming, of course, that they are installed and serviced by qualified professionals, and the modified vehicles are not operated in a manner inconsistent with current traffic laws.

What say you to this?
