Really want to go.

If you've been to Montreal before you know how fun of a city it is, and its probably closer than you think too.

The Canadian Grand Prix was left out of the 2009 schedule but I'm happy to see its back on for 2010.

I've talked to some locals there and they say F1 weekend is absolutely insane... its sure to be a good time both for the racing and the partying.

So... just a heads up for anyone interested, and that I'm definitely looking into going in case anyone else wants to try to put something together. Just a heads up that if you wait till the last minute, you wont be able to get tickets or a place to stay so don't procrastinate.

I went in 2008. It was awesome. I didn't get tickets until a few weeks before, but I am sure it will be different this time. Ride was actually pretty cool, we left at like 10pm and ended up driving through the Adirondacks during sunrise, pretty sweet. Only issue with the trip was we had trouble at the border getting into Canada, not sure why, but it took about an hour and a sit down interview. Also, cabbies were taking different routes back to the hotel every night, that pissed me off ha. Its not as expensive as you guys think, the actual tickets were cheaper than ones I saw for a Nascar race at Dover, DE.

I have never seen so many people in my life, 300k people were there, and i think 250k were on the metro haha. Also, endless hot girls, I don't think I saw a bad looking one all weekend, even female track marshals were hot haha. I'm going to have to start planning soon because I am sure the demand will be way higher since the F1 circus skipped it Canada this year.

Overall well worth the money, I wish I had a good cam and some photog skills because it would have been a great time to take pictures. Or video even since the cars sound ridiculous in person, I couldn't believe it, and this comes from someone who hasn't missed a race (thank you torrents!) since about 2005.

In the picture with labeled grand stands, I stood in between the two bridges by 21 and 31 for most of the race, but also checked out the chicanes and hair pins. I would have honestly paid the same amount of money just to watch the formula BMW, ferrari challenege, porsche cup, and whatever other series I saw.

PS. troll i made a post about it being confirmed (it was actually officially confirmed today) in the racing section so you might wanna delete that or something...

I can attest to Montreal being an awesome city. I went up last May for a weekend and it isn't a bad drive at all. The drive through the Adirondacks is amazing but be warned you will have no phone service for many miles through it. I wandered around downtown and everybody was very friendly. Also, there are cheap hotels to be found. I stayed at a place in Dorval near the airport for about $57 a night including continental breakfast and free internet. There is a really badass brewpub named Dieu. One of the best brewpubs I have ever been to. They have over 10 beers on tap at all times: http://www.dieuduciel.com/en/home.php
