door ajar outback 05'

so my buddie has a 2005 outback xt and the car keeps saying the passenger door is open but when you push or pull it says its closed...

anyone have ideas what the problem could be...

i was going to post in the subaru section but lets be honest here... no one reads that section anyway and im trying to fix this asap.

The door switch is probably messed up.
