What size exhaust does your car have, who made it/name brand and do you think it is loud?
Also, why did you go with that size and what are your power goals?

I run a Hks Carbon Ti, Invida Bellmouth downpipe, and TXS up-pipe. All three inch exept the up-pipe. I love the agressive sound it gives, its somewhat quiet, but at WOT its loud as hell. Anyways, I seem to have met my power goals with the 3", no need for anything bigger on my set-up now or the one I am working on.

I have a 2.5" BRM cat-back with a 22" resonator. Its not all that loud, and it sounds NIIIICEEEE! Its not a high pitched ricey tone, its a real deep grumble. At idle its really quiet, barely any louder then stock, but when your on it you can hear it, and tell its not stock. http://www.midwestfbodymeet.com/adams240.html <--theres a clip to a guy that has the same exhaust, a few vids w/ sound.

2.25"...no option for it.
2.5" would backfire on my car...no point in going that big unless I was FI.
*edit*
2.25" is a very big step from the 1.26" stock.

I went with the 3 inch because there is more products out there that I can bolt on and mix and match if I liked. I coul've went with the JIC spec 90 but then I would be stuck with it and it would be stupid loud.
I have 3 inch corksport down/mid pipe then to a 3inch y to dual 2 1/2 inch pipes out the back with small canisters. Goal of 350 horse

I have a 3" turbo w/ 02 eleiminator back that should be here next week from RnR Racing. I whent with 3 because the 2.5" would hurt spool time with a my T3/T04E 57 trim reworked by www.turbo-concepts.com . I'll let you know how loud it is once I install it. Also I'm looking for around 450 AWHP.

3" HKS CarbonTi catback. Not too loud, and I can barely hear it at cruising highway speeds. The funny part is that it was actually sent to me by mistake. I ordered the Greddy Evo catback, but got shipped an exhaust that was over $300 more expensive. Good deal for me.

I have a 3" Apexi N1 (made for a 2G GS-T, but fits).
It's louder than I would like, but with a supercharged V6, I need something that flows.
With this particular car, I'll be happy with anything over 300 whp (which I may have now, need to dyno again). At the moment I don't plan to drop in pistons and crank the boost. If I happen to get a huge bonus, I might change my mind.

I have the 3" HKS catback.
And I'm shooting for about 300-350 whp in the future.

3" downpipe mated to a 2.5" custom downpipe-back... and a really loud muffler. Soon enough I'll put on a nicer (quieter) muffler on it, but I like this for now. I'm not making tons of power so I don't need 3" all the way back, and my plans are for only 300 crank at least for the next few years. 2.5" is plenty for that.

I have a custom made 2 1/2 inch exhaust with a highflow cat which flows into a 2 1/2 inch inlet and dual 3 inch outlet muffler which looks like a stocker .It has a slightly deeper sound than stock and when its wide open it remains very stealthy but its due to the turbo cancelling the noises out of the exhaust. My goals are to get 300 at the wheels which is only 75hp more than I dyno'd a while back but currently i would say i closer to 240hp now.

The hks carbon TI doesnt go down to 2.5" to mate up with the downpipe? The cat back i have is 3" the entire way, except for the point where it meets up with the down pipe. It has a 3" rotating flange, but the pipe itself goes down to 2.5" to mate up with the stock exhaust. This causes a prob with my full 3" downpipe, they mate up but it leaks like crazy.

I have a GReddy Evo 2 Exhaust. Its nice and low and not to loud. You can't hear it when it's at idle, thats even with a test pipe. It is 3 inches all the way back with a 4 inch outlet :)

3in. Godspeed Catless DP to a 3in. GReddy SP2 midpipe to a GReddy EVO 1 axleback. The full stainless EVO 2 wasnt out at the time and i traded my SP2 axleback with the_mike (back when you had his wrx) for his EVO 1 axleback, long story....anyhow its all stainless now, so im happy.
As far as loud factor.....its not that loud at all, nice low rumble....it is getting louder over time i have notice, i think the insides are starting to get burned out....no thanks to the flames my car vomits all over the place.
Goals for now are to get my AP in the spring and do some added suspension mods, and a protune.

Nope. Mine is 3 inches from end to end. Well, except for the tip, which is 5 inches.

Nice, thanks chris. I have been trying to decide between buying a new full 3" cat back or have an exhaust shop cut up my existing one and make it fit. Id really like to get a shop to make me a straight pipe but i think that would be asking for trouble with the amount of noise it would make.
Does anyone have a clip of a wrx/sti with a straight pipe exhaust?

3" B&B turboback exhaust, divorced wastegate downpipe, catless but with a resonator so it's not too loud. Muffler is flat, with 3" dual tips..looks very natural to the car. My goal is around 320 to the wheels when I upgrade the turbo. I'd like to push it further than 320awhp, but I still use it as a daily driver so I don't want to further risk blowing up the engine.

Helix Downpipe w/cat (I'm a tree hugger) and 3" Cobb catback.
Not too loud, nice mellow tone, great boxer rumble. Doesn't really turn heads but I can still set off a car alarm or two if I rev it.

i have 3" thermal research and development catback, got it barely used off of a friend for $150, the metal was still shiny, soon to have a 2.5" downpipe with hi flow cat...so far sounds real nice....mrgudbar99 said it sounded perty when i pulled away

3" FP o2 housing, Custom 3" down pipe, 3" test pipe and 3" Apexi' Dunk cat back.
It's not too loud considering its just basically 3 resonators, it also quiets up a lot at highway speeds.
I went with 3" because at the time it was the largest available.
Power goals: The sky is the limit. I plan on needing to go to a larger exhaust soon.

3" downpipe into a 2.5" side exit. All custom made by 94Redreaper. My power goal is to see how much I can get out of the stock turbo. When my fuel return line comes in and I can turn the boost up, I'll be over 300whp. Then Im getting methanol injection, extrude honed intake manifold and a few more things.
