Better check your oil.

I would have bought a G35 coupe, but I'm too paranoid now as they are getting out of warranty.

Have you considered going to s2ki.com and my350z.com and reading about the cars on your own?

-If you plan on getting into track day's I'd go with the S2K (be sure to get the hardtop cause its pimp daddy and build the engine n/a)

-If you plan on getting into track days and Drifting Id go with the 350Z (super charge it)

-If you plan on having luxury and power for the streets I'd go with the G35 (super charge it)

-If you got the money do all of the above with the G35

OR, get a G35 6-speed and trade someone for a GC8 with WRX swap (I prefer black on black)

I like the S2000 more, I had 3 but I'm not bias. The 350z interior kind of feels a little cheaper. The S2k will be lower on maintenance. Theft however will be higher on the s2k as well as the insurance. Sports cars in general are cheaper in the winter. I bought one of my S2000's in the winter for 16.5k with some light mods that I picked out and paid extra for, I sold in the summer bone stock for 1.5k more.

Whats your budget? Maybe you could step up to an 01 or 02 BMW M3

I've drivin all 3. Here's my opinions:

S2000-
Pros- it's a honda (yes, i'm a honda guy), rev happy motor, farily easy to get to stuff in the engine bay, fun to drive
Cons- No real power below 6000rpm, tight fit inside car if your a tall/big guy, no glove box, radio sucks, wind noise from convertiable top, hardtop cuts it, but alot of them squeak.

350z
Pros- good power through out powerband, more room inside, plenty of parts for modding
Cons- only 2 seats, engine (to me) had no "personality", shifter felt funny, inside felt kinda cheap

G35
Pros- 4 seats (even though i wouldn't want to sit in the back) very nice ride, same power as 350z, has a certin "pimp" status with it
Cons- same engine personality issue, buddy of mine (and certian other folks on here) have weird electric issues with them, and my buddy says his eats tires

i would deff get a m3 but ones i found within that year are in the 20s or has really high mileage. and as for s2000 insurance i heard it is on the top 10 list of highest insurance rate..350 nor g35 was on that list so that makes me kinda ehh haha. yea im still looking around all the ap2 i found r in the 22+ range rite now and my price range is somewher between 16-18 or 19 no more

Well I can try and help with the 350Z.

How much are you looking to spend? If you can, try and find a 2007 or 2008 since they have the vq35hr engine (306hp on new SAE scale). A few bolt ons and a tune will get you 300rwhp no sweat (exhaust, test pipes, intakes). The handling is awesome but you will always know that the car weighs 3300lbs, it's also tail happy, but if you can drive a little bit you will be fine. Almost zero body roll from the factory. The shifts are short as hell, a tiny bit notchy but not too bad. The steering is great, a little on the heavy side but very communicative to the driver. The aftermarket on the HR engine is slow, but there are turbo kits and what not, just expensive right now.

If you can't find a 2007+ that fits your budget, look for a 2006, as it has the vq35de Revup engine (300hp). That year engine gets a bad rep for oil consumption, but it's not as common as some people make it out to be. Plus the 2006+ has a slightly nicer interior, different grille, LED tails, HID headlights standard.

2003 to 2005 has the standard vq35de (287hp). The only issues I have heard about with these is the tire feathering on 2003 and 2004 models. There is a ton of aftermarket support from turbo kits, superchargers and all the bolt ons. Plus they can be had for cheap (the car itself).

I have 2007 Z, although I initially went to the dealer looking for a G35 coupe. If you want back seats, nicer cabin and more civil ride (with less road noise), go with a G coupe.

The S2K? I don't own one, never did, but I hate the fact that they have no torque. Plus they look very BLAH to me.

Try my350z.com like someone else said, read up. If you have any specific questions, post them up here, I can try and help you out. Good luck with your choice, I am sure with either car, you will enjoy yourself.

EDIT - I just saw your last post, you can easily find a Z for less than 19 grand. You can probably get a 2004 or 2005 for 15k.

S2K is too small in the interior unless your from Muchkin Land. Also the powerband sucks balls. High end is alright, but 90% of your driving isn't floored so it sucks for that reason.

350Z wasn't comforatalbe for me atleast. Felt like someone dug a whole and put in it. Like the exhaust note though. Also very heavy for what it is.

g35's are sexy but slow as balls. I lost to one though in a race last week cause my shift selector broke as i was throwing it into 3rd gear, ouch. But im an 11 second srt...i think they only run 14's?

Well they are 3 very different cars, I would suggest looking at what you really want..

S2000 - 2 seat convertible, if you really want a vert
350Z - 2 seat coupe, what a sports car should be
G35 - 4 seat coupe, great if you want a 350Z but need a back seat

There's other options for each class of car but you already picked what you want out of each class, what would be more convenient for you?

s2ks have always been my dream car... i rarely see them compared to the 350z and g35s out there.... theyre light fast, and chicks dig them. 240hp. you can do a lot to them, even bolt ons make the car sound like the apocalypse. the convertible would be so fun. check out S2ki.com theres a lot of awesome people on there and look at their rides...

I'd get an S2K if I could fit in one, they're great cars. I have a blast everytime I drive one, but to small inside to see myself driving it for any extended period of time. I am 6'1" and my legs hit the streering wheel and the radio cover cannot go down. I actually barrowed a friend's S2000 for a week when I was serious about getting one and I had remove the radio cover altogether. But if you can fit, sick cars.

G35; kind of boring, need to at least put some OEM Z parts to make it entertaining, such as suspension, intake, etc. But they are super luxury, and I love them, just in a different way.

350Z; I like the car, not as much as my 300ZX TT, but in a different way. I honestly don't drive the car enough to be "bored" of it, but if I did I probably would have gotten another Z32 by now. Handling is where the car shines, which really is the reason why I like it as much as I do, but I have suspension mods on mine also. If you want some more power, get the 07-08's like what was said above, but they have a lack in low end, so its a give and take. The 03-04's are supposedly the best handling due to the weight increases and changes in suspension geometry that took place in 04.5+. But really, year to year, no major changes; a normal person will probably never notice any better handling in an early model, or any power increased with a later one (you're only looking at maybe .2 in the 1/4). Don't get an 06, jdubs posted that TSB about oil consumption, that is only with the 06 Z's and G's, and its true, more of them are oil eaters.

Good luck in your choice
