Hey, if you want docility, I'm sure the Lincoln Owner's Group of America has a web forum, somewhere.

It actually is not ;) Her car has seemed to be pretty reliable. I just saw the AA style post in the Welcome forum, and was inspired!

Probably, but I bet they drift from lane to lane a lot on the forums ;)

....one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side
and said I’m angry
Five days since you laughed at me saying
Get that together come back and see me
Three days since the living room,
I realized it’s all my fault, but couldn’t tell you
Yesterday you’d forgiven me
But it’ll still be two days till I say I’m sorry

Hahaha, old school track. I vote for starting a petition to lessen the censorship.

Save the ****ing whales, and ****, but if I want to cock my head to the side, then damnit, I want to be able to do it on TST.

How does the old saying go? If you aren't breaking parts you aren't making enough power.. :D

20 psi on a stock motor with proper supporting mods isn't all that much. I can guarantee it was related to either poor tuning or lack of supporting mods. Most of the dsm's that are grenading engines are older than most of the imports running around today and have seen their fair share of abuse. Sadly enough there are a lot of people running their dsm's un-tuned or just turning up the boost. It is not an acceptable excuse. On the other hand there are some pretty fast dsm's out there that don't have a whole lot of money into them. It is just like all of the other debates on this board, there are valid arguments for everything.

stichris

I'm no DSM expert, but it seems to me that a turbo that flows as much as an FP green, at 20psi, on stock internals... wouldn't last tooooo long ;)

I do think that I said "FP Green on a stock engine". That would mean reusing any oil feed lines, external wastegates, etc etc that were already on, and popping this freakin hugeass turbo on there with a ton of boost. I would say that's a big lack of supporting mods.

It wasn't a definite number. THe minimum the kid was running at a given time was 20psi, however, no one knows WHAT the boost was set at when this happened.

Talk about weight reduction...you didn't need that much block material in your bay, right?

bjc26
03-28-2005, 11:48 AM
Another case of not enough information provided. Stock block vs. stock everything else are two different scenarios. I run a turbo that is just about the same size as that on my stock block and head (20-22psi pump). Doesn't mean the fuel system, ecu, oil system, intake system, etc. are stock...

FYI- It would take some modification to get the stock oil feed and return lines to work.

stichris
03-28-2005, 11:53 AM
I only know one one person stupid enough to run a bigger turbo without basic supporting mods to control fuel/spark, etc.

It seems like he was running supporting mods, but you can only flow so much air through a motor with stock internals. Then again, it's all speculation ;) Goes to show: teh m3 can never lose!

That's ok. Everyone can take a crack and laugh at the DSMs, but who gets their asses handed to them on a silver platter at every scuby vs dsm shootout?? I ASSURE you it's not the dsms :finga:

Ah, how I love visiting the scuby boards afterwards and reading all the excuses

bjc26
03-28-2005, 04:41 PM
We probably have enough dsm's and subaru's on this board to have a shootout meet of our own. We should do it just to put an end to all of the trash talking... Somone needs to come up with some rules and a date!

If you pay my entry fee I would be more than willing to take you up on that challenge...

Racing around here is a little more affordable than doing it on the way to key west. Not nearly as much fun, but affordable.

stichris
03-29-2005, 05:45 PM
A 1g last year made it. But he made it with his heat blasting through the entire desert. I helped him work on his car for 3 hours, in Memphis.

03-29-2005, 06:00 PM
I have no doubt my car would make it without a problem, I just don't have the money to lay out for the entry fee. Looks like it would be a lot of fun along the way though.
