Hey, this is just an idea, but I am going to put it out there. I am not sure how his family feels, but I know a lot of families do not like taking any money from events like this for one reason or another. But what if we collected money from this event and made a charitable donation in Ryan's name?

having three hoods signed on is hard for someone to hold onto.
Meeshell
10-08-2009, 04:23 PM
The hood idea is pretty sweet idea to let everyone say their last goodbyes. It is a hard thing to hold on to (both physically and emotionally). While there are three being donated I would still recommend doing one at a time... That way notes and memories aren't too spread out and sparce looking for whoever does keep them

i'd agree that the hoods are a good idea. i do think we should start with one and go from there. i'm sure that if there is space a hood could be hung up somewhere, perhaps the shop, in his memory. if Sherwood always hung out there, it'd be the perfect place to keep a car related item.

They are truly grateful to everyone giving support and showing how much Sherwood meant to a lot of people inside and outside the tuner community.
We have also confirmed that Sherwood's R32 will be here during day for those interested in seeing the car that he drove and cherished to pay their respects.
If anyone has any special ideas/requests let me know and we will try to do our best to help out.

I think the OG thing is not appropriate. Everyone who is going, is going to support the same cause. This is not, and should not have anything to do with anyones status on this forum. There are plenty of us who've been here a long time, and most of us know each other to some degree. No need to broadcast it at the meet for him.

sherwood was really a friendly all around good dude that always made me laugh. I'll never forgot the fun times I had with him and the ride he gave me in the R32 the other day. You wish there was more people like him when you saw him, I know a lot of the people close to him are hurting like crazy right now, I'm praying for those people.

As of right now, I'm scheduled to work that day -- but I'll try my best to get rid of the shift. Is anyone else from the central PA area driving over?
And a question, in case I wind up not being able to get there .. I heard mention of flowers to put in his R32, versus giving money to his family for a donation .. Has anything been decided on? Because if we're going to be putting flowers in his car, I'd really like to send some -- but I'd probably have to send 'em to someone's house so they can take 'em to the meet (and put 'em in his car) for me.
CHAOS

IMO money > flowers
Whatever's decided upon, I want to contribute -- so once his family and close friends make their choice, maybe a new thread can be started to fill everyone in on what they can do?
I never met Sherwood or have any idea who he was, but everyone here seemed to love him and that's enough to show that he was a good guy. May he rest in piece.
