They are two different styling trends that often co-mingle.

The primary reason behind Oni-camber is to have a lower (relative) car while also rocking large wheels. It also allows passers by to see the entire wheel while being close (relative) to the car.

After looking at this for a bit, I'd imagine that the car has some combination of a custom Coilover setup (very short over all length) to allow for maximum low, drop spindles (again, for maximum low) and some sort of custom camber arms that would be substantially longer than what's currently available. The Custom body work also helps, it allows the wheel to be much higher relative to the car (Or the car to be much lower relative to the wheel)

this is very true for me but i compare it to color by numbers like my lungs for instance are numbered 6 cooresponding color is black. speaking of work i just managed to max out excel @ 60k lines... i dont know if i should be happy or cry about that.

FAP :inlove:. Everything about that car is amazing. Ohlins are awesome, Motec is my dream standalone, AP brakes. Most built track cars don't have such nice name brand parts. I love the latches for the body too.

correctamundo. in the descriptions i was looking at it stated if a different tire was used. i only put them on the list if the tire was OEM or a factory option. while they may be production cars imo using a tire different then one offered is like steroids in baseball.

im thinking he would take 10-12 for it. over 30k invested into that thing low miles has mostly origonal/ remanufactured parts. pretty good amount of upgrades from stock too i think he said it dynoed high 200s

think they come with a stock turbo (his is upgraded) making roughly 200ponys, with a borg warner 5 speed which is a fresh rebuild also lol i wish he would trade for my car haha

Well you can argue the weight issue all you want. For a 300HP stock car it is A LOT of weight. But if you take into account that the brand new GTR weighs as much as a 3/S it kind of makes you question if weight really is that much of a factor.

With how revolutionary the various set ups have become for 3/Ss, people make ~600+ HP on bone stock engines with bolt on turbo chargers now. Also the fact that stock for stock the 3/S was no slower than the Supra, RX-7, Skyline, 300ZX.

I just think the 3/S got lost due to the fact mitsubishi already had amazing platforms such as the EVO, Galant vr-4, and DSM.



And I also dont think mitsubishi should bring any of its old cars back, being that I am not a fan of any new cars I cant see a remake being cool to me. I kind of think they destroyed the GT-R compared to the R34 and I really would not wanna see the 3000GT go in the same direction.

i love the 3000gt, i would be down for them bringing a variation of a TT6 with an aluminum block (which would shave alot of weight) but their body lines and styles now arent really accesable to remake the 3000 properly.

an old gf's (god i was probably 13-14) dad had a purple vr-4. he would take the two of us to the philly street races all the time and i ****in loved that thing. he also had a 1g talon with a 50 trim, thing was always broken though lolz think i got a ride once in it.

Weight is a con, but look at most American cars. They are overweight as well, enough hp will make a car move bottom line.

I am thankful some one else feels that way about the skyline. I like the GT-R alot, they are excellent cars. I don't feel like they are from the same heart as the r32,33, and 34 though. Those cars to me were a class apart, their handling, exterior, and endless possiblities were just on a whole other level. GT-R's are great, but they are not the same as what an r35 should be.

Nope, definitely just as good. All of the cars you are comparing the 3S to have had decades of models to build a following.

Nissan's Z car has been around since the late 60s. 1969 was the first Fairlady if memory serves me correctly. Supras were first sold in 1979 and RX-7s in 1978. So you're wondering why a model with only 11 years of production time (1990 - 2001) is more underrated than cars that have had a history of ~30 years?

The reason it's underrated is because people who are in the market to buy 90s Japanese muscle (middle aged) are going to buy models they are familiar with, not the "new kid on the block."

Except that those are real regamasters, which are some of the most expensive wheels you can buy, the car has massive front and rear diffusers, and the wing isn't pep-boys.

My only complaint is they fact that they talk about the skyline legacy, granted there has been some serious changes from the kgc110's to the r34's and we rarely talk about models like the wagons, but I feel that it should be a different model name.

Lol I don't know if anyone in this thread knows any of my cars minus Liberta randomly seeing my Subaru at Import Alliance. But yea what the car is, is my best friend left for the marines and gave this Stealth which he loved to his younger brother. His brother destroyed it and gave it back to my friend. My friend is giving me the cash to restore and improve it how I see fit. I am not going to charge him for labor, but since I get to choose the parts I am going to have some fun. Calling the R35 a Skyline is completely pointless, because the Skyline is still being produced (Know as the G37 to those of us unlucky enough to live outside of Japan.)

If anything they should say that the R35 is based on 20+ years of iteration of the GT-R platform. There's no denying that much of the tech is just the logical continuation of the R-Chassis development.

It's apparent to anyone with eyes, that there was both a Styling Evolution and also a sort of homage to previous models as the R30 evolved into the R34.

Then you see the R35 and realize it bears minimal resemblance, if any, to the previous models of the R-Chassis. This is not all that uncommon in the automotive industry, especially after a long hiatus of a particular chassis.

Perhaps if anything, people have issues with the R35 because many people waited in the US to get a Skyline of their own, only to get something that wasn't. Sure, the performance is spectacular, but does it feel like a Skyline? It's a matter of opinion.

The R35 has some styling cues from the older models, but yeah, it's clear it isn't a Skyline.

It's clear to me that they just separated the models, sort of like what Subaru wants to do with the WRX. The GT-R had become way different than the Skyline itself, so splitting the models made sense.

Though, the styling of the R35 does show an evolution from the prior cars, to me. The new Skyline/G37, however, does not.

The R35 has some styling cues from the older models, but yeah, it's clear it isn't a Skyline.

It's clear to me that they just separated the models, sort of like what Subaru wants to do with the WRX. The GT-R had become way different than the Skyline itself, so splitting the models made sense.

Though, the styling of the R35 does show an evolution from the prior cars, to me. The new Skyline/G37, however, does not.

That is sexy ass hell. And I was actually thinking of that in terms of how they work the skyline term similar to the impreza term. I wonder what they view it has in Japan. I know they make wagons etc., but we never get them here so only the ones we talk about are the nismo or v spec or gt's.

Mhmmm, that's probably the best way to describe them.

They're not ALWAYS bad, but that Black/Red Scheme makes them look horrific, IMO. They're okay-ish when like polished or painted silver, but the whole bent spoke still looks wonky.
