BEGI is way cheaper than that... Only kit I see on FM close to 6k is the one that uses Hydra. Why not use Megasquirt? Or just get the ls1 swap kit and avoid all the issues you'll run into with a turbo setup.

The Begi kits are nice, but I just don't want to go with them. The FM2 kit sticks out as being the highest-quality. Hard water/oil feed lines, 750cc injectors with clips for plug-n-play, ceramic coated manifold and turbine housing/outlet, Stage 8 hardware to prevent bolts from ever coming loose, larger intercooler, full 3" exhaust...all the options are laid out right there to pick and choose from. I'll probably go with the 3071 which I heard doesn't spool til about 4,000 but makes ridiculous power. Somewhere around 300whp.

V8 swap would be nice but would be way too much work and fabrication and time that I just don't have to let my car be undrivable. The FM2 should hold me over until that day where I can afford a V8 swap lol.

Oh and Hydra, it's $2100 separately, whereas MS PNP is like $700. Why? These reasons:
"On-board datalogging, launch control, water injection control, staged injectors, individual fuel and ignition trim for each cylinder...the list goes on. because reliability is #1. My car has 75k and was garaged until 70k and never driven in rain or snow until I got it at that point. So...it's not like it's messed up at all. It deserves a fresh 0mi swap, not a swap from a car that was beat on. I try to keep my daily in a constant state of show-car worthiness. You'll rarely ever see my car or its wheels dirty. I am OCD as ****.

you can find a good condition LS1 w/ T56 trans for around $3,000 from an Fbody donor. Brand new, you're looking at about the same price for just the motor w/o trans.

certain turbos, like the FMII kit from Flyin' Miata, are bullet-proof up to 12psi. Any higher and yes, internals are a must. But 12psi or less, reliability is skyhigh. And 12psi is all I'd need.

Carver has to start using no lift to shift to save his trannies, he is shifting way to fast to try to stay in boost on that big turbo and the one time i was in the car with him when he sheered 4th gear it seemed like he miss shifted, except in a 600HP car miss shifting does a lot more damage to a trans than a 300hp car.

It wasnt a dogbox straight cut trans, it was a trans carver rebuilt himself, plus he was telling me he was trying to blow up that trans. lol

I for one think if the wheels weren't stretched and not sticking out the fenderwells it would look amazing. It would be a nice low car that has proper fitment and doesn't look like a hotwheels toy.

So if all goes according to plan, I will be purchasing another car next month, to get out of this CRX nightmare.

My boss has offered me his 96 Audi A4 Quattro AWD, with 203xxx miles. for $1000.

Its an automatic, but its more reliable than this CRX.

Power everything, heated seats, leather interior with wood trim.

It has recent work such as, timing belt/chain (idk what it has), tensioner, water pump, brand new exhaust in the cat/flex pipe area, which I would probably just change out anyway. It needs A/C work and the heater core changed, which I have no problem paying to have done. I have driven the car, on the highway upwards of 70mph on more than one occasion picking up dealer cars to be tinted, as well as around town. I like the way it handles, I like the way it brakes, I like the acceleration band, considering it has a 5 speed automatic trans. It has this weird high pitched wine from the bottom of the car, but I am 99% sure that is from the ****ty flex piping weld/install. IDK why they just didn't hard pipe it.

What do you think? I think its 495874968 times better than what I currently have and is 94859048693859386 more reliable, and I am sure insurance will be cheaper too.

I would LOVE to buy a 240sx or a Civic, but I got burned so bad on this CRX, I am hesitant to deal with anyone I don't know.. but they would both have to be good enough to DD without swapping.

Chrome plating is heavy and can be very expensive and the coating will tarnish over time, especially if exposed to heat.

I'd suggest looking into some of the newer powdercoats that can replicate a chrome finish. I'm pretty sure LPC can do them.

Hmm. Well I just want something better than polished aluminum. That scratches way too easily. I heard chrome holds up better. Isn't most of Dimitri's engine bay chrome plated? I want to get my ARC air box, part of my intercooler pipe, and valve cover and intake manifold chrome plated. Then I'd get the purple HKS fuel rail, redo the lines maybe in yellow and braided steel, add some catchcans and it should look cool.

i agree with Dustin. I would talk to Martin from LPC he gave me a low quote for my stock Tib wheels before I decided to buy wheels. Plus powercoating can be easily cleaned and unlike chrome won't tarnish, I know you Jeese if your car doesn't look perfect it'll bother you. And if you have tarnished pipes you'd go nuts...lol

Yeah, I love the ride height, but I'd much rather see it with 18's all around or even a 17/18 stager.

But, 19" TE's are the sex. They have a slightly different face design than smaller TE's. But, they only look good on the right car.

And most of the weight from an LS swap is from the transmission. I'm pretty sure an LS1 Long blog is within 50lbs of an SR long block.
