Pulled Over-Registration

I was pulled over yesterday morning around 7:30am at first I was completely boggled why I was being pulled over. When the officer came up he informed me that I was driving on expired registration which I didn't even realize. He issued me a ticket which I thought was not needed due to the fact I called work and went in late because I went right to the DMV from there to have my registraton renewed. My question is, If I appeal the ticket and goto court with registration being renewed not even an hour after I was cited, could the ticket be dropped, like I said I was totally unaware my registration had expired?

Depends on the traffic court judge he may throw it out or he may not.. how long was it expired??? you really need to pay attention to that stuff..
