Says that their offices are in Auduban and that the track will be in Berks. Looks like a good time. But no drag spots? Must be a noise compliance issues.

If it were an actual drag course, it would probably be just a burn out box, christmas tree, and a display panel at the end of 61st.

I wouldn't hold your breath, they have been talking about breaking ground for 3 years at least. I'm surprised NJMP opened before Liberty personally.

i heard the philadelphia park in bensalem was up for grabs at one point and they thought about building a 1/4 mile track there but the residents in the area said no ehh i guess we will always have woodhaven rd

j/p about woodhaven ;)

HickRocket1258
09-23-2009, 08:35 AM
Dante we don't need another 1/4 mile track. There are many of them around as it is and would probably lose money unless it was towards the heart of Philly and a low budget deal.

phillycivicsi
09-23-2009, 10:06 AM
there are soo many open industrial areas where they can open one up. Soo much abandon space on state rd i sure we can getva track goin some where there

NOPSTNS

well its an hour to njmp or an hour to libertybell mp.....six of one if you ask me. but two tracks within an hour sounds cool regardless.

the track descriptions make no sense on the site...

and i quote
"The park will consist of 4 different racing circuits. There are two 26 foot wide approx. 5 mile tracks which can be run independent of each other or run as a .84 mile road course. Both are served by their own pit/paddock areas. In addition, there are two 40 foot wide. 1.5 mile courses which also can operate independently of each other or be combined to form a "world class" road course totaling approximately 3.11 miles in length. "

so they have 2 tracks that are 26 feet wide (thats not a lot of room) and they are 5 miles each(thats very long, like miller-motorsports-park-long), add them together and you get .84 miles (obviously a typo).....no, add them together and you got yourself the US spec Nordschleiffe (spelled that wrong)
and then they decided to make two MORE tracks....TWICE as WIDE and HALF as LONG and they can be added together as well....
or was the "5 miles in length each" part a typo? did they mean 0.5 miles each? thus they are describing the karting tracks? add them and you can get .84 miles of a kart track? is that what they meant?

wtf? which ones are gonna be the pro circuits?

mann
09-23-2009, 01:23 PM
it looks like its two .5 mile tracks, meant for karts, that when combined make a .84 mile kart track. Look at the picture on the website that's what it looks like.

And it was stuck in a court case before that too, big deal. I hope it does come to fruition, it's like 20 minutes away from me, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

Its approoved buddy. So breath.
I hope this isn't going to be like the track in Jersey where you have to go with a car club to run.:(
It is difficult to get track time without a club event , but possible. Remember, you still need flag people, saftey people...etc etc ANY time a car goes on to a track....and thats difficult to make happen without a club, unless you get like 30 or your own folks to watch you drive.

I went to the open house 3 weeks ago. jp Moscaro (famed jp mascaro and sons trash company, billionairs) is the primary owner, duh. Im pretty sure Phoenix motrosports (sponsors on here) Mr Aquilanti has had a lot of input also. The museum in itself is gona be sick. Mr Moscaro has some rare and sick sick cars.
It is also gona bring traffic and money's into the area, more development, gas stations and fast foods.....lol....etc. The sound issue is NOT that bad folks! Only realy on the weekends are events held and only rarely are full on balistic race cars going to run. Its just not as bad as locals thingk (blazingly loud cars 24/7). Hell i hear Harleys louder than my car all through the night!!!!

I live 15-20 minutes from the soon-to-be track and cant wait!

2 road courses that can be combines into one large course. (thats where they get a total of 3 road courses), and a cart track. Id rather buy a cart.

So, sould i sell my STI for a Z06 or 08 M3 or keep the sti and make it 'better' for some track days?

jeffroevoix
09-29-2009, 04:15 PM
 I cant wait to see it
C'DALERIDER A Z06 would be nice, but there will be days you wish you still had the Sti. The M3 is really nice, but almost too nice to track IMO.

Keep the Sti and we can be arch enemies:lol:

Ive come to the conclusion if i still had Mustangs id be dead...AWD is just SO SO safe to have fun with! SERIOUSLY safe. 450 awhp and tq in an AWD car 3300lbs and great suspension setup is just a great car to have fun with.

YES, 'say no to racetrack' signs. I feel your pain if you live less than a mile from the place but they will do everything they can to reduce the noise level. Progress.

DocWalt
09-30-2009, 06:20 PM
I'm not sure where the "noise" argument came from, especially since the original argument was about traffic issues. 724 already sucks to drive on up there, people are always doing stupid crap. I really hope they fix the road issue before they build this place, otherwise it's going to be a BIG issue.

If I lived within a mile or two, I would be worried about getting out of my driveway safely, but the noise issue is easily taken care of, traffic is much harder to deal with, and more expensive.

I just REALLY wish they open a 1/4 track somewhere around Philly. I know there is a lack of space but be so much easier then going to Atco NJ which is a pain during traffic.

Antonio
10-01-2009, 01:36 PM
I just hope it actually happens. Philly is way closer to me than NJMP. Englishtown's road course is a joke. My z06 deserves better, lol

Protege v2.5
10-01-2009, 03:45 PM
If they were smart they would just put a 1/4 track down in the Shipyard, hell there is already an abandoned airstrip down there. Unless they have cleaned it up in the past few years( which is highly doubtful) is still overgrown and doing nothing. I used to screw around down there while I was working at Aker. Plenty of room down there, and its between 95 and the river so no noise problems....lol.

All those houses on Dupont Ave use to be the officer housing now its just overgrown and probably crack houses by now.

The irony of that was there were some that had the signs up, then had a tuner car in the driveway

Those people are hypocrites, they whine and whine about street racing, kids driving fast but when someone wants to put a track up so people can go to it instead of the street, they bitch.

If you're driving to Atco, the key is back roads. I work 15 minutes away in Mount Laurel, but if I took 73 it'd take me 45 minutes if I left straight from work at 5:00. Your location says Holland. If you're coming from there, take the PA TPK to NJ, then NJ TPK north to the next exit (exit 7). Then take 206 south, that'll bring you within a couple miles of the track. Way less traffic that way.
