let me know what you are looking for. The importer is a family member, not directly me but I will see what i can get in on a container for you. If it is a special order motor that is not usualy imported I will check availability but would need a full payment ahead of time and it would have to be shipped on a container scheduled.
As far as the harness goes, if a full harness is needed, you may need to purchase a front clip. Most harnesses that are cut would not work on a USDM car anyway due to the length, so uncut harness is not usually a big priority, but clips are needed from the motor side of the harness.
shoot me an email at Keith@KGParts.com
Thanks
the harness isn't really needed because it can be wired to work without. and the JDM harnesses have been retrofitted by us escort kids to work.
In any case, if it's way too much of a hassle, don't worry about it. I'd basically need a price quote before I decided. This is a future purchase I'm shopping around for atm so I don't want you to be put out doing a lot of work for nothing. I have a jersey distrobutor who orders the motors a lot and a common protege/escort shop in canada as well.
If you still want to look up the motor, here is the info I know about it:
88-89 Mazda 323 GTX (there is also a GTR model)
The motor is labeled as a Mazda 1.8DOHC BP-T. It is a factory turbo model, sometimes also known as a BPT/BPTurbo. The manifold is stamped with BP26 and runs a VJ20 turbo (non ball bearing). Here is a link to our normal supplier. The motor is the 3rd one down listed as 1.8L T4cyl (BPturbo). The 4th one down is the rare GTR.

Again, I am just shopping around for suppliers who can locate the motor and/or give price quotes. Please don't go to any extended trouble without understanding I won't be in a position for purchases for a few months. Thank you in advance.

LX two door, around the same year as yours, not positive on the year
ouch, good luck with the swap. the LX hatch/sedan are very different from the 1.8BP lxe and GT. both are on the mazda bg platform but the lx is ford's 1.9. tranny/axel/ecu/harness/pumps/lines are all different. it does swap in but he'll need a BP donar car (90-94 protege or 91-96 escort GT/lxe or mercury tracer lts). its doable though. tell him to stop by feoa.net and escortunderground.com. He could also swap the SPI out of the newer escorts, do a zetec swap (zx2 motor), swap the probe klze, or do a 1.9/spi hyrbid and go turbo on it. The SPI is a direct swap (minus fuel rail and a TB controller) and is good for 22 more HP stock. the 1.9 block with an SPI head (2.0) isn't much of a gain but lowers compression and with a 1st gen Escort EXP turbo setup (allllllll junkyard parts) on a low double digit boost, he can easily put down 200whp. i have a sedan with his motor in it, just like my lxe (my lxe has the mazda dohc 1.8bp hence the gtx swap) but in black. thats what a lot of tst guys used to see me drive. :supz:
