Anyone know it the new dyno in moorestown over at Precision Dyno Tuning can accommodate a Ford F350 Powerstroke dually? A buddy of mine wants to dyno his beacuse he just got a new exhaust system and a programmer.

Thanks

I heard that they were having a dyno day April 10th. $50 for two pulls.

Where did you hear about the dyno day? If they are having a dyno day I'm defiinetly down for that!

I think I was the FIRST person to find out about these guys and posted up on SJDSM. As I understand it, they should have their dyno by now. An off-the floor mustang dyno w/WB capability. No tail-sniffer, requires welding in a bung if you don't have one already.

I'm pretty sure they are having that dyno day though. I would imagine they could accomodate an F350. Might have some trouble w/the wheel base, but I doubt it. When I talked to the guy he said they were built to handle pretty much everything since he had a lot of dragsters/top fuelers and stuff that wanted to use his facility.

I'll probly go to check the place out, but it is a lot more pricey than Xotic.

"off the floor" meaning drive up ramps onto, or the kind you pull the wheels off to mount?

Mustang = rollers

Dynapack = hubs

Yes the dyno is open and yes he can accomodate pretty much everything. the guy who owns the shops name is nick and he specializes in standalone ecu tuning. give them a call and find out for yourself.

So when I got there around 6pm.
I heard from friend with black Evo that a domestic broke the dyno.
I didn't even get to do a baseline. :(

See, normally it's our rods or pistons, but dyno's are rare, since it depends on if our slow cars can make it there or not.

Im getting all this second hand but my understanding si tghat the dyn o overheated? Can anyone who lasted past 3 confirm that for me? Glad I got there at 10 am to make my 2 passes with the utec so we can compare apples to apples when the new EM goes in.

Chris was about to go after the VR-4, but apparently they overheated the dyno. I don't know how, that VR-4 seemed poorly tuned.

And we didn't get to see the 800 horse 300Z run. ;)

seneca
04-10-2005, 09:39 PM
Ill believe the 800 horse when they get the dyno sorted out and he makes a couple more passes at that level. I will follow up with nick tomm to see what happened and when the next dyno day might take place. about the vr4... im not sure half the cars there today had ANY tune at all let alone a good tune. seems engine management is not a popular mod for teh tster.

The only TSTers I saw were Silver04STi, Seneca, Chris, and myself.
3 of 4 are running management. ;)

I have no mods yet, hence no engine managment. First thing I will do is some sort of EM, but I am having trouble deciding what route to go.

the utec is great if you are not going 4" inch inlet on a garrett turbo and if you dont mind retuning around the timing and fule tip in as your stock ecu likes to change depending on gas and weather. the hydra is great for those you want to rid themselves of the maf sensor and want to tune everything from cold start to wot. ecutek and accessport are great for those who want to put on a few mods and leaved it that way for some time. atco thursday?

Maybe 2 weeks, someone said they were doing 1/4 pulls on the dyno. Accurate to 1/10th second.
It's cool because it is literally 5 mins from my house. w00t

I can confirm that the dyno did not overheat.
We were using a beta version of the software that for some reason was freezing on the MPH and RPM scale. Instead of reading one or the other it was reaching the default MPH speed limit for the gear selected and shutting down the rollers. The software thought the run was over.
But a few phone calls in the morning and she is as good as new. As a matter of fact 10 cars came back on monday and today to catch up on the time they couldn't get on sunday.
The next dyno day will be on May 1rst. Same deal with food and drink. Those who have some sort of ems we will allow on the fly tuning at no extra charge just for that day. It will be four runs this time.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask. Seneca is pretty good at answering some stuff if I'm not around.
The 300zx will run on the 1rst.

hey precision, glad to have you on the forum... you guys have a great reputation. i was wondering what the price is for the dyno day on may 1st... and what the whole deal is with the days events. i'm going to send you a PM now too...

i'll see you guys on May 1st...

what are your hours during the week and weekends?

Precision Dyno
04-13-2005, 07:59 AM
Yes the price is $50.
I figured some guys have a piggyback or some type of an ems they would like to fine tune, so we increased it to 4 runs. It is only on this day that the price is valid. So those four runs can be used any way you like.
It will include some food and drink and maybe a stripper.

The normal business hours are from 8AM - 5PM M-F
But we have alot of work to finish and start so we have been working 6-7 days a week until at least 9pm. I can work around peoples schedules. Just give us a call and we will take care of you.

Cool.
Sorry if I came across as hostile, it had been a long day(I am still burnt).
So it was a simple software problem? That's good, at least it wasn't something mechanical.
I thought it was the VR-4 at first, sounded like it fell on it's face. Oh well.
I will be back on the 1st to put a few pulls down instead of watching all day.

ps...what are the plans for the RS? ;)

Yeah, prepare to have your heart broken. Mustang dyno numbers are lower than others, so if you go in expection big HP numbers, you will be disappointed. They are, however, more realistic numbers.

I'll put it this way, a car making 300 on a DynoJet, wil make around 250 on a Mustang.

I didn't think you came across hostile at all.
I just wanted to clear a couple things up.
The RS belongs to one of my techs. We are going to see how far the EcuTek system takes us on that. We will be a dealer in about two weeks.
You haven't seen my baby yet. I am building her as we speak. There is some business in north jersey that I have to attend to with that beast ;)

Yes we accurately load the vehicle to tell you what the car is going to do on the street not the dyno.

I'll be lucky If I brake 200whp :-(

Steve (the guy who owned the car before me) dynoed it(did not make a full run due to load problems with the TEC-II) and it pulled 195hp + 180ft-lbs at the wheels Thats 100hp more then a stock RS and that was before headers and a lot of tunning on the TEC.

It's all good, I couldn't find a better word than "hostile". Perhaps blunt would have worked better.

The good news is my catback will be here next week and I found out you can smooth out idle problems related to cams with the UTEC after all, soooo....

We shall see, but I would still like to get her on the rollers on the 1st.
