Dampening help..

I just recently put buddy club coil overs on my rsx. there 15 way adjustable and im not exactly sure what they shoud be set at. as of now there set stiffer in the back then they are in the front which im pretty sure is backwards?? any way the tires scream when i go around corners now and i feel like my previous setup with comptech springs was much better. so if anyone can give me some recomendations on what i should do that would be cool. thanks..

well i think those settings should be relatively close, but dont quote me on this. i do not run coilovers. you did get a alignment right? because thats probably the REAL reason your tires are squeeling

Did you switch the springs as well?

Stiff rear shocks will cause the rear end to be tail happy. Good for autoxing a fwd car but not to good for the street.

When I was winning street mod years back in my civic the car was very dangerous on the street.

haha wow good call on the alignment i didnt even think about that at all. i have had them on for probably about three weeks now and that didnt even cross my mind as being a problem. and yes i replaced the springs there full coil overs. but my car never has a chance to get tail happy because the front end will not stick at all. so im gonna get this aligned but im still lookin for numbers for the dampening if anyone can help pleasee.

BAM! lol thats why your car is doing that. Ill look into a few different settings also, But that will fix MAJORITY of your problem than you can get a real feel for the settings.

go to any decent alignment shop with a nice rack and they will set you up. Just tell them you want the dampening adjusted either softer/hard or whatever... they should set you up.

but yeah, an alignment is a necessity after lowering.

Alignment is necessary after messing with ANYTHING that deals with the suspension

Just because you put better dampers (they are dampers, not dampeners--dampening implies making something wet like a...you get the idea) and stiffer springs on the car does not mean the tires magically have more grip than before.Your tires are squealing because they can not give any more grip. Get better, stickier tires and you will be able to get more from your suspension.

But, the reason you feel like this set up is worse than your old one is, like others have said, probably because you need an alignment.

also, have you ever seen charts for those shocks? It is likely that they do not have 15 independent, repeatably acquirable settings. There may be only 10-12 individual settings, and its likely that it will be very hard to match them corner to corner. This is a common problem with lower end full coilover set-ups.(as in, not make my kw, penske, etc.)
