Say you get pulled over. It is late at night, and the officer asks to search your car. You can clearly say no correct and they must respect it right? Say there is a sealed bottle of liquor in the back seat, is that considered probable cause to search the rest of the car? Can you mandate that the officer gets a warrant before searching?
Sorry for all the questions. I appreciate your time.

Anything the officer sees as probable cause can allow him to search any veh. as far as the bottle depends on the circumstances.. what time of day, location, age of driver and other passengers in the car.. yes you can refuse an officer to search your car.. but if you have anything in "PLAIN VIEW" that gives him "reasonable suspicion" that something illegal is going on he can search W/O a warrent..
