Just got back from seeing G.I. Joe and I've gotta say I'm quite disappointed. I thought the characters played their respective parts quite well but the plot just totally sucked ass. Also special effects sucked majorly. When they showed the desert scene of them entering the PIT for the first time, my 9 year old daughter proclaimed "That sand looks so fake!". I also hated what they did with Cobra Commanders final appearance and the origin of Destro's end appearance. I did however like that they opened with Destro's family origin. I think if this does well enough to get a greenlight for a sequel that'll be when the real payoff for the child hood fans will happen. But then again, I thought the same thing about the Transformers sequal and that turned out to be one of the biggest pieces of crap ever! Overall, I give the movie a big MEH!

I put it on a dvd yesterday, it wasnt totally bad... i just expected more, the special effects definitely lacked. Even more so with the "subs" and boats watching the water kinda go around in the circle was beat.

Well how close of a follower of the original cartoon series (I know the writers said they didn't case the movie on the cartoon series at all...just the comic book) and comic books considering that you're 22 (per your profile anyway) and Gi Joe's heyday was pretty much over by the time you were about 3 years old. If this kind of crappy remake is acceptable to the younger generation then I cringe to think what 80's memory of mine will turned into another pile of MEH by Hollywood next.
