well as the first thread of this fine forum, I'd like to state that I'd be more then happy to lend my knowledge and expertise to the BMW lineup. no car is too old or too new for me as I own and have worked cars 20 years old and even fresh off the boat at BMWs delivery center.
let the posts begin!

Depends what you plan on doing in my opinion. I perfer the 3.2 with an OBDI swap

3.2L by a long shot for everything from NA to FI. the 3.2L has also proven to be more reliable with a better built head.

Will there be a new M3?
OT: Hey Ron have you driven the S55 AMG?

only the original W220 body, not the supercharged one that is ripping around.
the new m3 should be the '07, I'm surprised you haven't seen pics yet. sexy body + 4L v8 adapted from the 5L v10 of the m5/m6. it's gonna be hot.

my dad just got the new S55 AMG, holy crap is all I have to say. The thing is AMAZING the seats have heat and a/c my M3 has nothing lol. Its a torque monster when you put it into manual mode and the ride is soooooo comfortable.
New M3 in 07 eh?? that means I'll get a used 08 in 09 lol.

I am having charging problems in my e36. The battery light comes on and off. If I charge the battery it will go away for like 2 weeks. I just replaced the alt. and battery about 2 months ago. Could there be a loose wire somewhere? How do I check the alt?

you can load test the altenator. autozone can do it for you for free. a battery light indicates no charge from the alternator, be sure you've got your connections right.

bavariasport, a programmer or prewritten software? there are no first party programmers for the M52TU motor.

Make sure to clean the battery posts and terminals down till you get to fresh bare metal.

Do you have an underdrive pulley or did the pulley on the alternator look smaller than the other one that came off the car.

it really depends on your goals. if you're looking for a true increase in power, then you're better off looking into some form of FI. if you just want a little kick in your pants, then see what Jim Conforti and Dinan offer for your car.
