O ****. You going to Andy's shop, he is the man. Is he tunning your cars or you just doing dyno pulls. My friend just got his setup done there, EJ207 spec c motor w/ 6 spd trans, SZ49 turbo, blitz fmic, Tial 38mm external waste gate that absolutly screams, and alky injection. Well I guess 400whp isnt bad lol.

I find that amazing. I talked to Andy today about my new turbo setup coming, I had asked him about this and he confirmed it. Nice numbers bro, keep modded.

Mine dynoed way lower than it should have so Andy only did one run. He found that the advaced multiplyer was half of what it should be. Was bummed to find that out. Some pics.

dont know. gotta do compression check and pray that its all good. im hoping that its a clogged cat in the crappy downpipe that was on the car when I bought it.

12-25-2005, 02:24 AM
Damn, that sucks. Kinda gets me scared that I may have something wrong wit my car also. Still super astonished on huffrex's dyno numbers, most stage II wrx's only dyno 220whp, he out powered that by 30whp. Thats nuts.

ya those numbers are absurd, congrats man... you got a freak from the factory, like dimitris

not to thread jack but how much do would you charge to tune a turboed 240?

thats about right. i dynoed at 250 whp with cobb stage 2 and ran 13.1 @ 104 .. but you dont even have a tune do you?

nah, just turbo back and mbc. Thats why I was amazed, anyways 13.0 is easy to hit on a stage 2, usually the power sits around 220whp. QTP has the fastest stock turbo wrx which dyno'd at 249whp, it runs 12.7, which is fast for stock turbo.
Orbit
12-26-2005, 03:25 AM
well ,i would not say easy. but i know, that 12.7. I have been tying to catch for a long time. that cut out must do wonders.

I don't think stg2 on a wrx 13.0's is easy i bet if you go on nasioc and clubwrx you don't find more then 20 people who have pulled 13.0's on stage 2 wrx's.

this setup was untuned! I plan on doing some body work during the winter, not a performance adder haha...ECUTrek, Greddy 20g Turbo kit, modded stock injectors (thanx andy), walbro 255lph, and turbo xs fmic!

and huff i'm super impressed and jealous- what was the boost set at to eek out that kind of hp???

wait a tic- dynojets are the ones that read a little more liberally right? how much more liberally? could that explain some of it? i don't want to take the wind out of your sails, huff, but my car is tuned w/just about your mods, and that's a lot more hp to have on an untuned car!

You better get that 6 speed tranny, your going to blow it apart if you dont.

I was looking more towards the ppg gearset from Andrew Tech Automotive, I don't wanna get too involved with the project!!
D Money
12-27-2005, 01:51 PM
Yup, im getting ppg's also. Huffrex, did you already get ur turbo and fmic? I'm tryin to shoot for 330whp on the 18g w/ewg
HuffRex
12-27-2005, 01:53 PM
NOPE not yet, without the gears i want 330 with the gears i want 400+
D Money
12-27-2005, 01:55 PM
I don't know if that is possible on a 20g man. 400whp is alot bro, I mean my friend did that on a sz49 on an ej207 motor and trans.
HuffRex
12-27-2005, 02:04 PM
thats my goal is to reach 400 on a wrx motor....when all said and done, if it can be done, i will do it!

gregfeder
12-27-2005, 02:37 PM
400 is a lot... 330 is even a stretch without an alky kit.. but good luck, get some stage 2 cams in that ej205 head and youre on your way
HuffRex
12-27-2005, 03:01 PM
330 is easy as long as the trans holds, 400 is pushing it, I haven't started my research yet...but I believe it can be done!
SinistiR
12-27-2005, 09:33 PM
If you want to get to 400whp.......Please step away from the 20G. That is not a large turbo by any means. I dont even consider a Green or SZ49 big anymore, and if you want 400 at the wheels, you will need atleast a Green or SZ49 with water injection to not have to push the turbos abilities. A turbo with a 55lb/min compressor wheel would get you there without a problem.
I dont run the 205s much over 300whp. They seam to like it right around there, and still keep great reliability. 207s and 257 do great around 350-380whp with no issues. When ever you start to get over those #s, upgrading the internals is a good idea. The pistons seem to go first, then rod bearings and finally rods.
Ryans #s are pretty typical of what I would expect of an untuned car. He did have other runs that were lower, but I brought the advance multipier all the way up on that run.
As far as the correction factor goes, I do not use them for turbo cars. The performance of turbo cars is greatly effected my atmospheric conditions, and I like to see that on the graphs.
And yes we are planning on moving next door to us, its going to be 3 bays instead of 2.

Andy, so then would you say to go with an 18g on a ej205, do you think you can pull 320whp out of that with an external wastegate? Would you recommend going external waste gate for the extra $500 bucks (price for ewg and custom welding)?
SinistiR
12-27-2005, 09:55 PM
The 18G is the best turbo for the 205. I see no problems getting to 320whp with an EWG on a 18G. The subie motors really like external gates, I always vote external.

Let me know when everyone is going down again. I haven't been there since last March when they had open dyno days and I need another base line pull (untuned) b/c I got some funky numbers from PhillyDynoworks..
btw, Chris from Xotic is on here somewhere too.

Yo Smokescreen, me and Gregfeder might take a ride down sometime this week, he needs to get a smoother curve as per andy, and me, hell I just need a new setup and don't know what to go with yet. Shoot us a pm if your down.

I put down ~245 on Xotic's Dynojet while I was stage 2...made me kinda unhappy with my stage 4 numbers considering the cost vs. gains. I'll have to dig up my sheets.

define 'a bit'? by how much would you say? are we talking 2 or 3hp or 10-20?

I use no correction for turbo cars most of the time and a sae correction for normaly aspirated cars.
