Ok, I've been looking for a DD, and among them is the SRT-4. I only hear good things about them. I am not going to mod this car, so please tell me the things that go wrong with stock ones. Your help is appreciated! Thanks!

i hear this outta every car, its more about how you drive it.

just don't powershift everywhere you go, and you will be fine.

my clutch slips, but that is cause it is stock, and the car now has close to 400 wtq.

car has 54k on it.

They exist. I hope. I found an unmolested bone stock Supra TT. With enough searching, one will pop up.

My buddy drives his like a normal guy completly stock and has tons of tranny issues, his sunroof leaks a lot of things have started to rattle basically your typical cheap american car problems

Go after the Caliber SRT-4. Trust me, I just drove one, and hated on it up until I got it on the road, but you can find the 08's with no miles on them for 18K. How many brand-new, factory turbo'd cars can you pick up for that? Plus it's got a friggin' fridge in the glovebox!

really? what year does he have? My budget is really <$12K... The RX8 is on that list SvicksTC :P. I'm trying to find something practical AND fun.

The rattles and stuff are because its a neon with a turbo ha, but ive heard the tranny issues too thats why i mentioned it.....but a lot of younger people drive these cars and dont know how to drive them or drive the balls out of them and run into problems.....

however it many cases like you said above can be driven normal and still run into problems....

I would hop on some srt4 forums and do some research if your that serious about them

ya, join us on srtforums.com but wear your thick skin, they can be kinda harsh! believe me, im a 4 year vet there, and moderate 2 sections.

my GF has an 04 RX-8, its a snail compared to the SRT, but can't be touched in the twisties! lots of fun to drive!

I'm on the SRT-4 forums (today, actually). I actually just posted a question. I found one, but suffered front end damage in the past, but I want to know if the owner is known.

I don't need a real fast car. If I need it, I just hop in the Sup. I want something I want to take care of, and have fun with (unlike the Corolla).

I guess its hit and miss, my car is perfectly fine and it has 60k on it...its a 2004, been driven hard the last 30k...taken down to the "sunday spot" many a times and beaten the snot out of...then turned around and came home.

Only mods i have is a intake, removed resonators, and a blow off. only suspension mod is lowering springs.

My SRT is great! Never had a single problem. But then again it's an 04, stock, and only has about 18k on it!

I would def get one! There are plenty of clean stock ones out there!

I just sealed the deal! I will be picking her up tomorrow :D

It's a red, 2004 bone stock except for a thermal R&D exhaust which quiets the car. It also has new speakers, a 6 disc changer, and a bazooka sub in the trunk. I'll post pics Friday :D

I bought it off srtforums. It looks like the seller had the thread taken down because it's not there anymore.

it got put into the archives. We don't remove FS threads completely in case they are needed for reference in the case of a scam.

congrats!

He's from Hartford, CT. RSchyns is his user name. What sealed the deal for me was when I rang his doorbell, he answered and he is an older gentleman in his forties! He has EVERY SINGLE receipt, sales brochures, window sticker, etc. He has a 19 year old, and he didn't want to give it to him!

It's fine until 4K rpm then bam, the car wants to go anywhere but straight lol. I think I'm getting bigger forearms because of it lol

Minor mods make these such fun cars
