AP is that like a diagnostic tool?

AP = accessport.
The accessport is a diagnostic tool/ reflasher for the WRX/STi/LGT.
Basically it has staged fuel maps for your mods that it reflashes onto your ECU. Stage one is just the AP. Stage two is uppipe and downpipe, and on and on. Cost is around 600 and they are a great tool. They also allow you to turn off your check engine light which is pretty cool. They are made by COBB (www.cobbtuning.com).

i'd be down for the mall meet... i know one of the security guards (friend's dad). we could meet in the vacant jcpenney parking lot since there won't be any shopping going on at that mall anyway :lol:
autotap is a great utility and definitely worth the $100 since it works with every OBD2 car. plus it comes with an OBD2>>USB cable thats probably worth about $45 by itself.

FYI: only check engine light that I didn't already know about was the rear O2 heater. the rest I knew about(not running a boost control sel. and not having my FPC installed yet)

You can't just use someone elses AP to read and clear your codes. It has to be married to the CPU first. In other words the AP's owner woudl first have to un-marry the AP from his/her car then marry it to the new car. A bit more that most owners would be willing to do, but I could be wrong.
