Haha, Congrats! I'm still rock'n the stock swaybars. Hopefully I'll be picking up a set of Racing Beat bars for myself.

congrats!!! i don't know how the fronts are, but my rear 24mm was a SOB - i had to quit wrestling w/it after a while and ask for help- you go girl! did you have a lift or just jack/stands?

WrxJC

The rear doesn't compare to the front. You have to remove the entire front chasis support. NOT cool. All 17mm bolts about 5 inches long, i thought the whole underside of the car was just gonna drop.

jack stands :)

Well now i need better street tires bc it DOES rip through turns. I tested it out the a parking lot, slalom style (without the cones) and its was fully controlled but breaking traction everytime i switched directions. FUN tho

Yea, def. I would recomoend a wide tire, a 225/40. But if you got some wide rims, I say go for 235/40's.

Congrats on the new sway bar install.

But jeez, do you have to be such an attention whore about it? You make it sound like it's next to impossible for a girl to learn how to install a sway bar ;)

front sway bar isn't that bad just take the end links off with the stock bar. then put them on the perrin off the car. makes it easier. congrats!

What size swaybar(s)?

Is there a detalied write up on scoobies with different sway bars?

Being a f-body guy that can't go fast, I've decided to make it a canyon carver.

TehWagon

what do you mean by a detailed write up? if you interested in scooby-specific info, nasioc has some good faq's...

I'd like to do sways on my STi but don't like the idea of the yearly oiling that is required. I like to install it and forget it. I'm lazy.

TehWagon
12-28-2005, 02:53 PM
 i didn't get the oiling memo... *runs to look into this*

Bubba Ho-Tep

It's recommended that the mounts are re-greased once a year. I assume it's due to the possibility of the sways making noise after the stock lubrication breaks down over time.

TehWagon
12-28-2005, 04:15 PM
oh the mounts? i didn't change my mounts when i did the sway/endlinks... but i plan to in the spring as i know it is best to do that...

sorry to jack the thread but thanks for the info!

Bubba Ho-Tep
12-28-2005, 04:50 PM
I'm sorry maybe I described it incorrectly due to my relative ignorance.....the "mounts" meaning the things the actual bars sleeve through during the install.

TehWagon
12-28-2005, 05:01 PM
AH. that'd be the bushings :wiggle: thanks!

WrxJC
12-28-2005, 06:34 PM
They SAY to grease the bushings to avoid the rubbing noise. For some reason, my bars didn;t come with the "included grease packet" so i didn;t use it. The perrin bushings are so oily feeling, i dunno if its necessary....i'll get back to you in a year and tell you then :)
