1st reason: its a ford.
2nd reason: is it a stick shift? does she know how to drive it?

:)

Very odd.. I beat the **** out of my hatch and have only broken one lower mount at about 80k. And that was launching what can be launched.

SPI or Zetec motor?

^^^No clue lol. I don't pay attention to her car all that much. Its a sedan and its the basic model...Zetec maybe?

the mechanic used 2 diff brands of aftermarket mounts so im thinking hes gonna call Ford tomorrow he said and they should send him one of theirs. Those should work betetr than aftermarket crap

if its the done bone and its a zetec I have a stock one in my basement I think, and Thats weird that it keeps breaking, Is your other mount broken on the passanger side which would put most of the weight on the dogbone.

nope, the mechanic told us he checked the other mounts and they are fine

Try using an oem mount and really check the dogbone mount on the back side of the trans, I've seen them break.

Theres a good possibility we are talking about a SPI, not a zetec.

Up until '03 Ford put a SPI motor in many sedans and wagons.

Were they all genuine Ford parts? Buy OEM and have someone weld some reinforcement to it-

ok she got a ford one finally, ^^they can't weld it because its the top piece popping off all the time and the oil/grease smells horrible then...
