View Full Version : stock or exedy clutch?

well my clutch is def. slipping now and I drive my car a lot so I need to get a new one asap. My question is should i just stay with stock or get the exedy stage one. My mods are PP piggyback,cobb CAI,borla header,RT cat,Stromung catback.....also where is a good place to get the clutch depending on which one you would rec. thanks!

this is for a 2.5rs

exedy street clutch is basically the same as stock, if not exactly the same.

go with whichever is less expensive imo.

mine came from a shop in detroit, so that won't help you much, sorry ;)

ACT is the way to go. Better than the Exedy, IMO.

How is it better when most of the parts used are sub-contracted through exedy... just like all the other clutch manufacters.

Just about everyone I know that has had the Exedy Stage 1 clutch has been unhappy with it, myself included. I have not heard a bad thing about the ACT equivalent, everyone I have talked to that has it loves it.



FYI, my opinion means absolutely JACK. Take it for what it's worth.

I have the exedy stage 1 and the exedy flywheel, I like it. No problems so far. Paid 1200 bucks parts & install over at precision tuning in brick twp. Difference no, well with the flywheel yes. What do these people not like about the exedy?

i had an exedy on my s14 for 3weeks b4 i bluew it (new)

got an ACT and LOved it

ACT AND EXEDY are not made by same co., if so plese prove!
