rx7 front brakes

how hard is it to change the front brakes on a rx7 the ones with the 4 piston calipers. i have never done a 4 piston caliper before so i dont want to tackle something that i have never seen before and screw up..lol. it looks like i would need 2 or 3 c clamps to do it, what tricks do you guys have to do it?

are you swapping calipers or doing pads? Pads aren't really any different on 4 piston calipers than they are on 2 piston calipers... maybe more stuff to take off (clips, brackets, shims, etc) but not harder

its the same ****.... i beleave these are press in pistons. so get a big ass pair of channel locks and press each on in

yea i know its easy but the hard part is getting the pistons back in since there is no real way to get your hands in there know what i mean. i am not due for a brake change yet but i am gettign there thats why i asked. i still have not looked for a tool to use to get this done but everyone is like use a c clamp and call it a day

thers a tool its like 5 bucks you put it in the caliper twist its simple lol
i havent done mine yet but a caliper is a caliper they do all the same **** just sum liked to be skrewed instead of shoved

lol you cant
youll actually need a pair of channell lock pliers. and use them to compress the pistons back in one at a time
since you dont screw them
so what you do is open the channel locks enough to fit on both side of the caliper
one jaw on the piston and one jaw on the metal side. and then squeez and theyll compress

C-clamp.... just put in around the caliper and tighten down and the piston will go back in. Not trying to insult your intelligence but make sure you have the cap off your brake reservoir .

just fyi, the rear calipers need to be screwed in with a brake tool because of the ebrake being built into the caliper. c-clamps for the fronts like everyone said, i prefer vice-grip c-clamps its faster

You take a pair of channel locks and squeeze the **** out of 'em.

No, really. Thats all it takes and the easiest way to do it. Use an old, worn pad as buffer if you want.

yea, i use one of the old pads and a C-clamp if I can find one, otherwise vice grips or channel locks work on the fronts. As mentioned, the rears need to be screwed in
