CD2 engine cleaner rawks. Ive taken my car on many many offroad excursions and have ended up with this: (keep in mind this engine has 120K on it:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/96imprez/DSC017911.jpg

After CD2 and a DIY grounding mod:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/96imprez/DSC017941.jpg

viola! i think it did a great job. And this is with NO rubbing, washing, degreasing. I just sprayed it and let it sit.

On another note:

The DIY grounding kit worked wonders. I havent gotten a chance to see changes in fuel mileage, but other things have improved. Acceleration is MUCH smoother all the way through the powerband and doesnt drop off or hesitate at 4k anymore. Also, idle is a crapload more smoother.

disconnect the batter completley. then spray it down...make sure you let it sit for a while so that everything evaps. as long as there is no moisture in the TEC when it gets juiced, it will be fine

you can get it right at the auto zone in the deons shoping center. I knwo they have it, i was there going to purchase it but realized it is an engine detailer and not a degreaser. if you engine is overy dirty/greesy you will need to degreese it first then use the detailer.

Yep, I just did mine today. I had to degrease first, then use the detailing spray. 100% improvement. I didn't get any before/after pics though.

My car wasn't cold enough either, I had a good steam cloud wafting from my motor. My neighbor came running over because he thought my car was on fire when he saw a ton of smoke and me spraying down the motor with a hose to rinse the degreaser off.

HA HA HA... yeah i was to lazy to have to go hoome and then wait for the engine to cool down. I would have sat down and then never done it. Ill do it eventually. Can you no get the degreaser on the belts or anything?

The only thing I covered was the alternator. I was careful when I was spraying as to not get it all over everything. I only aimed for stuff with caked on grease/road grime/oil. The rest of the dirty engine bay got sprayed with the detailing spray.

Worked well. Kudos to Pete for posting it up.

Dude, counter people sucked. First thing I did was ring em up and was like "You got any CD-2 Engine Detailer?"
"Nope."

What do you recommend for degrease? This bay needs degrease/detail pretty bad. It might only need detail, but degrease wouldn't hurt any. Should probably buy some K&N filter recharge too, cause my air filter is crispy from before I took my hood liner out.

One word of advise:

When you de-grease your engine before you spray the detailing spray, do it in the street. I have a nice dark brown spot in my freshly sealed black driveway.
