I want to rent a lens from these guys real soon, i was just curious if anyone knows if they charge you the full amount of what the lens is worth as a deposit?

i've never rented thru this website, but im sure it's the same w/ all lens rentals.

so, yes.

they will charge u the full amount as a deposit, plus rental charges.

idk. but probably. thats what my company does whenever we rent [lenses] or video equipment. We put a hold on your credit card. ie. we run the charge on the machine, but do not close the machine out, until you return the equipment, at which time the charge is voided... so as long as nothing happens to the equipment, your CC company never sees the charge on your card.

Unless you have an insurance policy. You can buy short-term insurance from film emporium in NYC.

also check Calumet Camera - they have a local store and might be easier to deal with. I am not affiliated with them in any way. :)
