Do you guys belong to other car forums? And are the people on those forums ***holes?I have heard it about a couple of forums but I wanted to see if like every forum does it. I belong to a passat forum and the older guys think they know everything and that a young kid knows nothing about how cars work. Just they act like their **** dont stink. And on the V6 camaro forum I left cause everyone was always fighting. I would start a thread and bam someone posts and a fight starts. They would get so off topic and nobody did anything. I have to say that the enforcement of rules on a forum prevents situations like this. Just wanted to rant about this though. :furious:

Agreed. I joined a Crossfire-specific forum over the summer and it's mainly a waste of time. New people just post the same questions over and over, and people take things WAY too seriously. However, it is useful to get specific information...like what that rattling sound is or how non-existent the aftermarket is for the car.

Yeah that is the only reason I use the passat forum cause there is a classified, marketplace, and group buys. Also they have a problems section but the rest of the site is a big mess of arguing and childish name calling and such. Oh the european guys take it WAY too serious if some reasks a question and didnt use the search button. All of them cannot take a joke. And they only read the last page of a thread and they comment on that even thought its so off topic.

a lot of forums are like that. i wanted something different here and i think all in all its a success. of course there are problems here and there but in general i much prefer a friendly atmosphere to a competitive one.
fwiw, www.clubwrx.net is a great friendly community... but its just about the only one i've ever heard of like that. its kind of a model for this place in some ways...

I used to post on nasioc, But all those kids think they know everything so I stopped. For the most part I love clubwrx.net, i-club.com, and also scoobymods.com. The kids on there are cool. The best thing Ive done is put a pic of my car in the avatar, thus showing them I know what Im doing when it comes to subaru. Also post a mods list and accomplishments the car has to show them you don't play around.

RX7Club.com are full of them also, but I browse there alot. Mostly the for sale, 2gen specific and regional. I'm also on NoPistons and TeamFC3S and it seems they are friendlier there.

You can't ask a question on Nasioc without being called a n00b, and being told to search first. Then no one answers your question anyway.

I am on club3g.com. As long as you don’t go in there acting LiKe diZs, you will be generally liked.
Newelipse.org is a place I was on but I stopped posting in. The site is run by a company that produces parts for the 3g eclipse and if your opinion differs from the owners expect to be banned. Also what got me was some kid blatantly admitted to race on icy roads and everyone praised him lol for beating a civic.

clubwrx.net and dsmtalk.com were the only forums I've browsed that seem relatively drama free. I haven't been on dsmtalk in years though, I used to browse there daily.

Otherwise car forums get really elitist... agreed.

Yeah I am a Super Mod on club and have been on there since there were like 1000 members. Once that *movie* came out, the whole place changed. I still like it better than others though and not because I am a mod there.

I just about refuse to post any helpfull info any more. people dont appriciate it, and think they know better no matter what you post. So posting help is a big waste of time. No body appriciates it.

Nopistons is a little more friendly, but IMO, a little childish. They play around to much and have little "clicks". Its not that I dont like the people on there, but for the most part, kidding around isnt what i go on board to see. Hence I am not in any "clicks".

The one thing I cant stand about every board is the repeated stupid questions and questons that have opinion answers. Examples:

-"What is the BEST exhaust?" (according to whom?, are they looking for actual facts? I doubt it. They just want to hear XXX brand is the BEST and dont care why someone says it.)

-"I am looking to change my BOV, has anyone done this or how do I do this?" (Are you kidding me? What, searching through the forums wouldnt yeild like 20000 posts on this subject? I mean the cars are over 12-18 years old... but you are actually the very first person EVER who has thought to post this question on a board with 70,000+ members with over 4million posts and 350K threads. Not to mention the 2 threads at the top of the page in the same section you just started your new ground breaking thread... )

Ive had good experiences even as a troll. Granted your pretty much disliked once they figure out you dont own the same car. But for the most part they are cool, some sites that deserve to be shut down???

Rsxclub.com - a bunch of whiney little bitches that cant be proved wrong
Mustang owner/sites dont like to be toyed with either but other than those two isolated experiences everybody can take a joke. Well the beemer guys are still pissed but hey, cant be a good feeling that even with a supercharger on a 330 ci you still get pulled. I dunno take them for what they are, timekillers at work. I dont let it bother me.

Oh yeah and this site is quality but i agree that you should have seperate sections for the according cars. I think it would be interesting.

For some reason I felt a mod or some of the mods were just as bad as some of the members when it came to being childish, ignorant, and offensive.

The biggest reason I don't go there much is I prefer to talk to local people instead.

Club3G is the same way, but with good reason.

It's because every effing week some n00b comes in with the same questions that have all been asked (and answered) thousands of times before.

y0! Which is better, supercharger or turbo?

Or my favorite...

Does anyone make a turbo kit for our cars?

Where a quick search will reveal a huge amount of information regarding which kit is better for your situation and where to aquire said kits.

So yeah, on stupid things like that, the n00bs get beat up for not searching first. If you do have a real problem though and post a good descriptive question, they're great about trying to help out.

Like any question that the "neutral" members make they get bombarded with you ****ing wanker do you not know how to use the search. Uh the site deletes pages that fall into the 4th page of threads so.. But they go off at the drop of a hat.

You should check out www.club3g.COM. It's run by people, not by a company.

.org is one of the most retarded places. If you give CMF a bad review, they delete it and ban you. What kinda customer service is that? http://www.aaroncarr.com/images/smileys/twitch.gif

The only real carforums im on are Integraforums.com and Vwvortex.com. Joined them mainly for the classifieds. Other than that, im on sccaforums.com, grassrootsmotorsports.com and solo2.org. If anybody hasn't checked grassrootsmotorsports.com yet, I would defenitely recommend checking out the forum. There is enough stuff on there where you could get lost for a couple days in it.

Haha I got banned for recommending tear’s kit over the non-existent cmf kit.

www.srtforums.com - almost 3 year veteran.. i mainly stick to off topic and discus current events.. all the original owners from back in the day either dont post anymore or sold their cars

www.midatlanticsrt.com - smaller regional site tho the forum section is still picking up steam. but lots more than forums there anyway.

and im on a bunch of other car specific sites that i dont remember.. usually its to see if i can find someone i spotted or to comment on one thread and then i never go back.. hehe.

That's exactly the kinda crap I'm talking about.

Recommending a vendor that is CURRENTLY shipping kits instead of a turbo kit that hasn't even been produced, tested, proven, etc etc etc gets you banned. WTF?!?!?! :screwy:

Those same assholes running CMF are the ones who ran XI Racing, and numerous other ventures, all of which have ripped off forum members. Once They rip off enough people, then the company suddenly "dies", and 6 months later, a new company miraculously comes along to save the day. (AKA rip more people off)

Insert "Mazda" for "Crossfire"..............Though i joined a little over two years ago. It's very "clique-y" over there. And there are some instances where certain groups or people will follow each other around and talk s**t in the threads 'til they end up in the Dumpster. All-in-all, a pretty good forum.

I said that .org sucks. .com isn't bad (as long as you don't go in as a n00b talking smack). .com is the one where you'll find the most help from people who actually know WTF they're talking about.

honda-tech is by far the worst site and forum for anything. The only thing I do is search on there because everyone is so critical.
