Hey there everyone,

I got my car last June (same day I got my license lol) and I ****in love her to death. I'll probably ride in her til she does die, but I had a few questions that I've come up with over these few months of new car ownership.

Can I get a fuggin 6spd transmission on this biatch?

Lexie, as I've named my dear ol Lx, loves to go... quick. I don't really ever go over 100, and when I do I don't go past 110 (needs alignment). I usually do alotta highway and average like 75-80mph.

So whatever, I got a 5spd, and I like to keep the taco under 3000 rpm, and I like to do 80 yea, but at 80 I'm goin over 3200 rpms, and I'm burning more gas just to go a measley 5mph faster, but I don't like 75mph much. LOL

I figure if I could put a 6spd in this badass stock sedan, I could do 80 mph and still keep'r under 3k.

Anyone anyone?

I'm not really ready to do this, my tran is still in decent shape for learning to drive stick and downshift and stuff haha.

ANYONE IN SPRINGFIELD DELCO.... lets race biatch hahahaha

Just drive 75 and you will save your gas.

Most 6spd trannies are still short geared, see if theres a different 5 spd civic tranny that has a longer 5th gear that you could swap into your current tranny.

congradulations on your new car man. your gen and mine of civic is kinda the forgotten one. what i can tell you is that you should just go for a k20 swap if you plan on doing any swapping. check out this forum if you havent already www.7thgenhonda.com . theres alot of people there that can help you out with whatever you plan on doing with your car. here some pics of mine 01 lx Automatic. it is also my first car and ive had it for two years.

Yea my friend Tommy was raving about a K20 swap. I was like yea if you wanna help me put it in myself. It's not that I don't know sht about cars, its that I haven't really done much. So I don't have nearly the tools or experience or ..... MONEY for that one.

That'd be friggin awesome though. Like a totally new car.

My 6th at 80 is 4000. You can't put a 6-speed on your d17 motor.

That's the answer I needed. I assumed it wasn't possible. Hopefully in the next 2 years a k20 swap become much more feasible. I still owe 11k on the car lolol so I ain't doin it yet.

there wasn't really a solid valid question to begin with.

Edit- Im not trying to be a dick. I was actually curious on what you spent for the car because I would have been pissed if i knew someone took advantage of me like that.

yes you can have a 6spd trans in that car. you can just swap out the trans for a type-s.
if you want to lower the rpms in 6th for cruzing on the hwy, get a 6spd trans and swap out the type s 6th for a tsx 6th gear. that will lower your rpms by a 1000.

you can also make your 5 spd trans a 6 spd but you need the entire counter shaft from a type s and then what ever 6th gear u want. there is a thread on k20a.org that someone with an element added a tsx 6th for hwy cruzing.

Notorious92rhdEG- If you read his first post you would realize that he has an LX, its a D-series motor not a K-series he can't simply swap out the tranny for another tranny. I mean WTF do you not even read the thread posts, lol.

Its not that your car is forgotten, its that its still brand new and too expensive to screw around with. As the prices get cheaper on the cars in say another 5 years or so then you'll see people buying the cars and swapping things into them. But until then your on your own. If you want something that everything has already been done on but an integra...

There is a company called Dezod that makes parts for the D17 but aftermarket support is minimal at best for that motor. The only engine that chassis can take is a K series, B, H, and other D don't work.

custom mounts and some serious harness work a B or H can fit.
