View Full Version : My X-Mas List for my car

2000MRDC2
12-04-2005, 12:44 AM
I went a little crazy on Inlinefour.com looking for some parts for the four door but heres what I came up with. It needs some serious work in the suspension Area as you can tell by how i went crazy with suspension parts. The car also has stock exhaust so i had to get that. Other parts like the Hood dampers are for more fashion over function but the car needs a little bit more fashion also.

AEM high performance brake pads $ 48.60
Tein Basic Coil-Overs $713.00
Susp. Techniques Sway Bars $312.41
Spoon Front Lower Tie Bar $140.00
Spoon Rear Lower Tie Bar $140.00
EM Racing Rear Strut Brace $189.99
Tanabe Hyper Medalion Cat-Back $495.00
Tein Bonnet Damper $137.75
________
Total $2176.75

Must be nice to spend $2000 and get multiple car parts.
$2000 can only go so far in WRX terms.

the list is revised now, i took the off the hood damper, changed the exhaust to greddy sp2 (according to hoppers opinion it will sound a lot better) and after assessing my financial position i think im gonna ditch a few braces and jus go exhaust, tein basics, and maybe Lower rear tie

Yes greddy exhausts rock on hondas Ive got the evo2 on mine now and it sounds good, sp2 should sound just as good

pfft, get a bimmer (new or old) and you'll think wrx parts are cheap! :(

---

to the OP, I'm not hating, I also own a '94 Civic ex coupe, but do you think it's really wise to drop $2k in a car that has a fair market value of $2k? perhaps moving your funds into some thing that'll accept similiar mods with better results may be a nicer alternative for you?

it's your money, your ride and your choice, I'm just offering my two cents and reasoning. I do notice that you didn't pick out junk, those are all high quality parts that you're looking at.

I blew it up on Oct 30th, the morning before I was leaving. it was a 3.15 25% lockup etc.

I ordered a balanced 2.93 40% lockup, dual clutch with polished gears...it's hot!

but not as hot as the gearbox that ground zero is building for me.

custom 1st and 5th gears with double synchros for all the gears. :D

can't wait to get home, we're gonna have some fun in the galant.

$2k goes a long way when it comes to modding a relatively stock DSM. :)

Tuner shops, parts and deals are numerous, now a days.

absolutely, I'm loving it with my gvr4. oh and www.groundzeroperformance.com is my dsm/3kgt shop of choice. they're the shop that's doing my custom gearbox.

Let's pretend you put that kind of money into the GVR4... imagine how it would it do against the fastest e36s in the country.

Don't get me wrong, there is no comparing the cars overall, but in terms of going fast....

to put things in perspective, I own one of the fastest E36s in the country. I chase after sport bikes now. figure top 50 or better and street registered. I say top 50 cause I know the field very well and there is always someone else out there with a more crazy setup then them. :wiggle:

the gvr4 is my winter beater, my problem is that I can't leave 'good enough' alone. she's already pulling 282 awhp as she stands now with more toys on the way.

you're right though, they are different animals but both are very fun to drive. I want to see if I can hit up an auto-x in the galant...if it's as fun around town then it should be equally fun on a closed course.

I've sat in his bimmer, matter of fact it was the first bmw I sat in and drove lol. This thing is quick its got power left at the end of 5th, its nuts my E46 would not stand a chance in hell against this thing.

Wanna take my S2000 to autox? I'll put the remus exhaust back on just for you  :-p

you drove it before the turbo, back then it just had a 3.38. :-D you should have been there when I killed Al's E46 m3 by 4 cars. It was a week after we hung out at JR Tobacco.

I'll run your s2k at the local circuit, it was extremely fun to drive and I really would enjoy owning one. thanks for letting me take it out for a spin, Ray!

narrow market for a low production vehicle = $$$ for parts.

hell it's only $3k for a great turbo kit for a civic but $8k-15k for a similiar kit for a bmw. :(

the reason the prices are so hi is cause CEC lost the rights to sell remus systems. it was awarded B&M and they F- everyone up by jacking up the prices so they could earn a better mark up.

it's bs.

i saw a full titanium exhaust for an m3 before for the $20k

themadhatter

does it include a kilo of cocaine?! for $20k, you can have a built and supercharged S54B32.

any titanium (I can think of 3) exhaust for an E46 can be purchased for under $3k.

themadhatter
12-12-2005, 05:03 AM
not really, it evolved into a thread regarding the price of mods...what you could get for 2k.

the fact that it evolved into a discussion about cocaine simply enforces our belief that car modification is an addiction comparable to narcotics.

:

That is called thread hijacking. It has nothing to do with exhaust for an M3, the drugs involved for how much people pay for some stupid crap, what your car does, how an S2000 does in auto-x. Nothing. It is about what he has ordered for his Civic Sedan.

Not being a d***, just following the rules, that never seem to be enforced....

Unfortunately, threads often go off-topic. It's too bad but at the same time it is not enforced as much as other things that might actually offend people. Of course if you feel offended then take the liberty of reporting it, lol. The appropriate mod will come on here and warn people to get back on-topic, lol.

Of course, it would be ideal if you guys would make a new thread if you want to go off-topic, lol.
