Yet another boring night so instead of sleeping i go on autoweek and found these articles about wrc thinking of going to non-turbo cars and Sebastien Loeb talking about leaving wrc

It already passed. S2000 Rules go in affect in 2010 I believe or possibly in the 2011 season.

No more turbos. No more AWD.

Great for reducing the cost - horrible for manufacturers who built a brand on rallying. Competition breeds innovation.

But hey, at least we will see Hyundais and Kia's rallying in the WRC now.

well... there will still be innovation. the game has been changed, now the manufacturers have to step up to the plate and not rely on forced induction and awd systems to win. Driver experience/talent is def going to play a bigger role

Group B bred better drivers by killing off those that couldn't handle it's awesomeness

I loved the awesome cars in group B too. Like Porsche 959s and Ferrari 288 GTOs. Lets get a rally spec FXX

The massive rule shift in F1 and WRC are just a sign of the times - less money, more driver.

While it would be awesome to see RWD cars in rally just because I'm a fan of them now, the AWD turbo aspect of the sport made it such a thrill... whatever, I'll still watch if I can find a torrent for the entire season.

I think it sucks. But I drive a Subaru, and am logical. I guess it's stupid to think that an offroad racing series should use AWD.

Bitterness aside, hopefully it'll bring more Lancia Stratos-esque badassery, but that's unlikely.
