1998 ZX600R? ZX-6R? I think thats what it is. I honestly don't know much about bikes. Just looking for some help with this.

Should look like this I think?

http://www.alpinemotorswyoming.com/upload/1998-Kawasaki-ZX9R-Side2.JPG

Let me know what you guys think it needs and roughly how much it would cost. Also how much you think it would sell for the way it is now.

Thanks!

Got Insulin?

Looks like it's been layed down pretty hard, if the frame sliders are all torn up like that. You're going to need plastic, the front farings, frame sliders, fender or fender delete, wind deflector, and a bunch of other stuff. I wouldn't pay much... Mileage?

side fairings, lower fairings, front fairing, the bracket for the upper fairing, ram air tubes, front fender, case covers, head light, wind scree, and probably a **** load of misc. bolts and nuts.

Maybe its just the picture, but it looks like the front wheel is pushed back. Normally that means bent forks, or the neck of your frame is bent.

side fairings
belly pan (lower fairing)
front fairing
front fender
turn signals for the front and the rear
mirrors
headlights
new undertail/ place to put the plate and turnsignals unless they are integrated into the brake light
the bracket for the upper fairing
ram air tubes
front fender
case covers
head light
a chain
radiator
wind screen
looks like it needs tires too (centers look beat)
paint for all your new plastic work
decals for the new plastics
fasteners/ bulbs
misc wire harnesses
i think the horn is missing too

if i were you i wouldnt ask how much this is worth i would just not buy it, the stuff i listed and the stuff other people said may not even be a full list there could be a lot more that we cant see from your pics. just the stuff i listed alone would probably cost over 1200.00 going with e-bay s**t parts

I think if you make it into a naked bike, then it's worth keeping, otherwise, IMO there are too many parts needed to make it worth fixing. Would make a great parts bike for someone.

gee good thing you showed up, the fact that it needs a lot of work wasn't apparent

You can jump with a car just do not have the car running while you do it. I would clean the carbs, tank, new plugs, oil and filter, coolant, then start it up if it runs good make it into a street fighter. A street fighter would be the most cost effective thing to get it on the road great place for ideas http://www.customfighters.com/forums/. To get it on the road you'd need tires, chain, sprockets (front and rear), some type of a headlight, blinkers, and some type of mirrors, I'd also put new pads and brake fluid in it all said and done around 600n to 1000 depending on the parts you pick out. I would also raise the bike back to stock ride height.

kevin id be glad to take a look at it in person. its tough to gauge from pictures and not getting a closer look at the bike.

You ever ride before or think about getting a bike?

If so this is a good starter to get your feet wet with. Not only learn to fix but a good cheap ride.

Dave
03-28-2009, 12:11 PM
be a LOT cheaper to turn it into a street fighter. just need a flat bar conversion and whatever else it takes to make it ridable.

I've ridden dirt bikes and quads and such. Thought about getting a bike but mom and gf's aren't fans of them lol

I'd like to get my hands into this thing and learn stuff & get street riding down pretty well but if I can get some good money for I could use it for a new car. Idk we'll see

What's this 'street rider' term? I think I have an idea but not too sure.

Agreed.

Kevin, Street fighter is basically a naked bike.

Some people think that civics are the ugliest cars around, different strokes for diffrent folks, IMO stripped bike look badass.
I'd get a headlight off of a bandit or similar naked bikes and hook it up like that till you get good at riding, then step up to a newer bike.

I would also agree on the streetfighter look. If not someone may buy it for the engine to throw on a quad or go kart. If someone is willing to give you $1100 for it the way it sits SELL IT NOW!

The polsihing from far looks pretty good on the wheels and the frame. I would def give them a quick rub with some mothers polish and they will really jump out to a prespective buyer.

zerioustt
03-30-2009, 09:20 AM
I'd keep it if you were thinking about getting a bike.

It will be a good learning process fixing it and knowing the bike. Plus it was free!

Kevin
03-30-2009, 01:47 PM
Yea the polishing is really nice. Probably the best thing on the bike. I'll clean it up and get some good pics. I'd love to fix it myself but if I can get good money for it without putting money into it, why not.

I wish I had pics of the one that sold. Thing was banged up all front end damage, front wheel looked like pacman and **** haha

I think I'm gonna build a street fighter using a 04-05 gixxer600 frame, and a boosted gixxer1000 swap LOL. Parts are cheap. And I am a fabricator

300whp and no fairings LOL

So dont sell it yet. Wait a few days and relist it. Try and get as much as possible.
