I just copied and pasted this from another forum that I'm on, and they think this is a good idea. Just and idea.
I am very excited to announce a new organization that can make a big difference to car clubs across the country. Car Clubs Against Street Racing ("CCASR") is being launched in an effort to unify car clubs of all makes and models to take a stand against street racing. I have personally lost a friend to a street racing accident many years ago, and every day it seems we read another story of an accident, injury and death. Since the BMC is a leader in the car club community, I wanted to step out and do something to raise awareness about street racing, give clubs a way to help promote safe racing at tracks and encourage all drivers to be safe on the streets to protect themselves and their prized vehicles.

Yeah, I thought so too. I just want people to think next time if they seriously hurt/kill someone during a street race, and I think its a good idea.

I agree.
i agree with everything said above. My grad class has been affected by similar accidents to this. I support and back this idea 110 percent.

While i agree 1/4 miles tracks arent a bad idea, do you think we need all that many more? I know i can get to 2 in under an hour. I think people need to understand that you'll never be in a position where tracks will be 5 mins away, its just impractical to have that many tracks. be willing to drive.

I'd love ALL the details I can about this.

I am. One perk of going to college in the racing capital of the US.
I support this 110%. Our college car club has been put through a lot of unnecessary bs because of street racing in the area, essentially shutting down the club... Forgot to mention that we weren't involved at all. But because we're a car club in the area, we got a lot of heat for it.

I support this too. I have seen too many nasty wrecks and posts of other kids dying. I do think we deserve a few more options of tracks. Some more local tracks would definitely lower the need to street race.

A lot of the accidents that you hear about are later then a track would be open. These ppl are out looking for races and no matter how many tracks there are some will still do there biz on the streets. I just can't see how anyone can stop it. Anyways, What constitutes a "Street race" anymore? Is it any 2 cars that are speeding together? We've all done that and most still will. Many here have lost friends and ppl they know through others. It is what it is. You just have to try to be as responsible as possible while being irrisponsible.

People race late at night , not because they want to but for the ease of it. Less people and cops. Having tracks that are close and offer grudge nights will not get rid of street racing but will reduce it. my 2 cents.....

okay.... question. Besides unifying these "car clubs" how do you plan on stopping people from racing?

Realisticly, its impossible to stop people from street racing. But at least raising awareness could help reduce the racing, or even get it out of the populated areas.
That, and seriously, in the TST area, there are what, 3 or 4 1/4 tracks, plus all the other drift and road tracks around? Its insane.

Just like how everyone else posted you'll never be able to get rid of street racing 100%, but this might help.

^thanks for your obvious post. way to contribute. your never going to eliminate it, but if you can create awarness about what happens you could decrease the amount of street racing that occurs

I agree with Rambo. Sure there are idiots out there but we all have been there and done that. The awareness and stories that are shared really makes you think about stepping on that pedal so dam hard.
