MKIV GTI radio problem

didn't know whether or not to post this in the tech section or in here. but basically, my radio does not turn on, when i press the on off button, nothing happens. checked the fuse and it is not blown. is it the radio that is blown?

What you need to do is "reboot" it, which is basically unplugging it and plugging it back in, whether it be pulling the fuse or actually unplugging it and plugging it back in. It's kind of a band-aid, cause it's probably going to happen again, but I can almost guarentee it will fix it, even if it is temparary. I can't remember whether you need to input your radio code or not, but I would def have it ready to input. The dealerships will usually do this once and will tell you the second time to replace it.

thank you both. i will have to try it tomorrow morning. i don't really mind not having a radio because i usually don't listen to it. but if i'm driving around with some friends, its nice to have

EDIT: just unplugged fuse #42 like that thread on vwvortex said. and it worked ty=]
