Have not been on here in a while..but would like to get some feedback.....hopefully i can meet some of you guys at the bbq in may if i'm able to attend...

Let me know what you guys think....I waxed the car for the first time since august last year...in fact....i had inspection issues and didn't drive it from aug to dec....but interior/windows/engine/wheelwells ..are still dirty......along w/ fixing a few things ......

I have a close relative that thinks its rice...so i want to see what you think...personally i think i might have a few 'riceish' things but overall its a clean showcar........hmm....ill see what you guys say:hi:

agreed good to see you got rid of the doors...maybe a few minor ricey parts but overall i like the look of it..and the transparent hood is different never seen something like that before good idea for a show car..then again i like cars that are more well rounded than straight out show cars..so maybe a little over kill on the hood and some of the cf parts

from one srt-4 owner to another... that car is hideous... but only for a few reasons.

the lambo doors for one... the ridic see-through hood. get a plain CF hood or the one with the slanted vents (http://www.performanceautowerks.com/catalog/images/CBDventhood.bmp)

The doohickies on the roof. I like the rear valance... the spoiler is a bit much perhaps, but not horrible...

the side mirrors are probably the worst looking thing on that car

I think you should go crazy and get the other CF parts for the car. I toyed with the idea a few years back, but i got orange because of the low production numbers and couldn't go about removing those parts...

first step in the right direction was getting rid of the lambo doors so good job there.
the car is clean and looks to be of good quality, but it does give me a bit of a 'ricey' impression. maybe really showy is a better word for it... since i associate rice with cheap garbage and thats not what i'd call this.
i dont like the fenders though, i think thats the biggest thing that stands out to me, and the roof vane is probably next in line. it'd also flow better if it was a bit lower, IMO.

Ditch the : Rims, Mirrors, E-bay Head and Tail lights, Rake Look, Your not driving a 73 Dodge Challenger, there is no need to have your ass in the air ready to be mounted, flatten the car out.

Clean your interior,

Get a Short shift kit (that shifter looks out of a 70's ford pickup I used to drive),

try to play with the contrast between the CF and the Original Blue... it kinda just looks like you purchased every carbon fiber part you could find, but didnt think much about how it would look with the rest of the car you gotta get a rhythm going with it

2. most srt's have painted stockers, eyelids, and a homedepot lip....i wanted different...

3. I get lots a compliments on the engine....so.....with that being said.....why not show it off...90% of srt engines are yuck...

4. since the roof has been painted the vortex thing on roof feels more in place and not tacked on...

5. i have been getting alot of bad from the fenders....hmm...(not just from here).....but in person i get compliments....

6. I love the wheels and mirrors no matter what.. lol... all tinted lights are professional..not nightshades or film........

in all honesty, I am not sure about the hood and it would probably look A LOT better without the CF fenders. I know it kinda flows with the theme, but CF fenders never did it for me personally. And ridding of the Lambos door def made it an approvement.

Overall, its a nice ride, especially without the lambo doors. Color matched fenders would make it flow better I think.

Just remember, ultimately it's your ride and it doesn't matter if other people hate it, as long as you enjoy it.

Personally, here is what I would change

1. Paint the CF Fenders. They do not flow AT ALL with the rest of the car.
2. Find the stock mirrors. Those look digusting
3. Lower it. You don't need to be dragging the control arms all over, but the stance you have is BRUTAL compared to the rest of the car.
4. Maybe black out the roof? Or a C/F overlay for it. It would look pretty nice, going from the front bumper to the rear wing, and flow nicely
5. New hood. Personally, I'm not feeling it. Good for shows I guess though.

All in all, its a billion times better then what I thought I would see clicking into this thread. A few changes, and the car could look awesome. It looks like you are getting some quality parts, which is a definite help.

I love the blue and some carbon Fiber inserts but the carbon on the body. IMO that blue to sexy of a color to throw some carbon in with it. I think you need to put your stock mirrors back on and paint your fenders and front bumper all one color. I'm not a fan on the headlights or taillights either, but they're not as bad. I'm not sure how I feel about the wing either. Maybe if it was a little bit smaller it would look really good on that car.

i read you got rid of the lambo doors. there is just too much CF, paint it all blue, not sure what those tails look like at night, they might look good at night. and the evo looking spike things on top of the back window needs to go. is that hood really a screen or is it a solid transparent peice?

I do like the trunk spoiler if it was color matched, and the rear valence and smoked headlights are pretty sweet.

In your pics, its kind of hard to tell about the painted roof, but if it is, awesome.

As for the fenders, painting them still isnt a bad idea. Its still beneficial due to the weight savings that they offer.

Personally I love the overall look of the car. Exterior wise I would definitely get rid of those carbon fiber fenders though because it takes away from the flow of the car. That color is a sick color! Everything but the fenders and carbon fiber doors is awesome. I love the overall look of that car.

Carbon Fiber is ok in moderation (See E90/92 M3). The CF here breaks up the car a ton. It looks as if the body parts were all from scrapped Neons and slapped on this car. Not digging the front valance either. Personally, I think the stock SRT-4 bumper is fine. It defintely looks like a show car, and not a tracker.

CF stickers=rice….real cf=not
Big wing that doesn’t flow=rice
Body damage yet fixing it is not a priority=rice
Never kept clean=rice
Not quality parts=rice
Looks fast but in actuality its slow=rice
A color theme that absolutely does not work=rice
An abundance of pepboys parts=rice
Body panels like a body kit that either has bad fitment, is not painted, or is torn to bits but on car= rice
Too many tv’s to do something with (like tv headrests in a coupe or something to that extent..or like 10 tv’s in trunk….=rice
Lambo doors=rice (thank god Im done w/ that)
Hoodscoops on roof=rice
Excessive underbody neons and bling stuff like that=rice
Even the person that drives the car can be an arrogant prick that wants to race everyone=ricer

After you pass that…..I think a good distinction between rice and a show car is sort of a complete package. I have a lot of work on the exterior and engine..even interior…but I do lack a stereo…(its hard for me to do that because of my racing roots)…..so I probably won’t. I think the reason why we tune and customize cars is to add our own personality to the car and be different from others…..Its amazing how one person says I love that part…and the other says I hate it….Its the way it is..and the more you separate yourself from the rest the more variety of opinions..….I will though take into consideration any trends I see…only one is fenders so far.

It does look ricey but when I look at it the fenders are saving weight but I'd thinly paint it and the trunk. Whole point of the hood is to check my brake/clutch fluid without popping it so it can stay :)

Mixing styles (as in, race look, or show car, or hardparker, or whatever) is never a good idea. Keep it simple, and keep it cleaning. Adding all of those little do dads in CF and that stuff takes away from the car, and in no way adds to it.


On a positive note tho, I do like when the Neon guys paint the lower bumper black like you did...I think it's a nice simple thing to do in order to make it aggressive.

Suggestions: Sell all the show car crap and get some go fast goodies. Those cars were meant to perform, not park in car show halls.

It seems as though it's 2:1 in favor of rice. Some people like it, most don't. It's not my car or money.

Just because someone doesn't have those carbon fiber parts doesn't make it fabulous. Perhaps there's a reason no one else has them. But again, refer to the sentence above.

A nice car is a nice car. It just so happens that this particular Neon is not a favorite of mine.

Agreed on the drop. I never liked how the Focus' ass stuck up higher than the front, and the Neon really puts the FoFo to shame.

for such a long time it was a daily driver.....and the front lip is always an issue on these cars...so i opted to hold off on coilovers (i have 1" drop springs) but eventually i have to go w/ it

I just wish some people wouldnt be so harsh and just see the way us neon owners think...mixing show looks with weekend racer that can win at car shows is virtually an impossible task with any car....sadly judges do not think that if it is fast and clean it should win first place!

It's a hard color to do anything with.

If you had more recent pictures instead of making us visualize this; it'd help your case.

Also, I think if you painted the carbon fenders, but left carbon accents, you'd be golden.

in my opinion, a Ricer is a car with visual modifications, but no performance modifications. R.I.C.E=Race Inspired Cosmetic Extra's. example: bodykits, wings, rims, decals and vinyls, scoops. But if it also just happens to have a turbokit, I would not call it a Ricer.

The only reason I voted rice, was that I don't thin the car flows that well. Is it something I would run and tell my friends about the "Doing it wrong?", probably not, but again, I also would tell them, "check out this awesome SRT4" either. You are trying to do a lot, which, I respect, but just some of the things don't flow too well.

Its fast, awesome. Racing part is in check.

Its got some good asthetic parts, cool. I almost thing its harder sometimes to complete this part, since, there are just SO many routes to take, and the little details.

What about a light coat of paint on the fenders, until it reaches the top where it is meeting the hood? This way, you can show off the CF fenders, but also, add some flow to the exterior?

Don't take what I am saying offensive, but more or less something constructive. If I was judging a show car, one thing I would have to look for is how the car flows as a whole, not just, "ZOMG! 15 TVs in the Exhaust!".

Car is far too busy for my tastes. I'm sure it would do fine at shows, but that's the one reason I hate most show cars. Also the black and blue theme just makes it look tacky.

i voted no. Car looks pretty sweet. lower the car and imo put the stock fenders on. the see through hood is pretty cool so i say keep that. thank god the lambo doors are gone. get some wider wheels like 17x8s or maybe 9s

Very nice car, looks great the way it is. Looks like you spent a lot of time- and it has paid off. I wouldn't change a thing, except respect it a tad more by keeping the interior cleaner. :)

Yes. kinda of.

Change the fenders, gas cap, and the rear bumper. I like the color alot, but the CF breaks it up to much. And for neon SRT's I prefer no spoiler at all. The hood is not so bad being CF but past that it gets annoying. Its ur car and in the end its wat u like. Overall it nice though :thumb: I really like the color and the wheels. If it was all blue ,sans hood, it would look sharp!

Mirrors, fenders, fuel filler door, hood, and 'vortex generators' need to go. Other than that, it's not too bad.

The hood's almost cool, looks like a photoshop job looking at it... but doesn't do anything for me aesthetics wise.

It's not really rice... but it's not really a show car either. So it's between those two. I would paint the carbon fiber. I like carbon fiber accents, but I think carbon fiber hoods and trunks create a two tone look, which is ehh. I really don't like carbon fiber fenders. Ballers paint carbon fiber.

It has the Ebay headlights and tail lights, but those don't look horrible. When modifying a car's show aspects it's very expensive to make a really nice looking car. I think this car, for the money spent, looks good.

i say its done nicely for a show car. usually show cars have a lot of useless ugly ass s***. what i like about yours is that its different. now if i saw that on the road and it was a plain neon with some gangster drivin it. id say its rice.......i think rice has a little to do with the driver. just my opinion. some people think my car is rice. especially other E30 drivers :(
