View Full Version : finally.....my vette got low.

Well, lower at least...
Cranked the stock bolts, cut the bushings in the front as well and brought the car down about an inch all around.
while there still is some wheel gap i think it looks much better.
Also, blacked out the tails and front corners and got rid of the awful mesh the previous owner had in the fender vents.
My monitor is dying and everything had a blue tint so i didn't edit these in fear they'd look awful to you guys.
Enjoy!

I hate car audio stuff, but after replacing the stock bose head unit the sound quality sucked.
I have a partition wall separating the cockpit from the trunk so i had my brother build a box that fits in the front section, it flows well and doesn't weigh a ton.
I've had 30+cars, this is only the second to have subs haha..

thanks guys...
maybe i missed something but i'm 98% sure that that's as low as i can get on stock bolts.
there is a bushing on the front bolts that is about 1" big, i cut that in half and cranked them down tight. so i guess essentially i could've cut more of that bushing out and dropped the front another half an inch, but i wanted some bushing in there yet.
the rears are maxed out on stock bolts. i loosen those nuts anymore and things won't be safe.
ketchup!

and as jordan said, the suspension is adjustable many, many vette's are lowered the same way..
jordan are you on stock bolts still or have you changed anything? iirc your car looked a lot lower than mine when i last saw it.

Well, lower at least...
reading is a good thing.
I went to the track with some friends tonight, assumed the clutch would slip as it did last time and i'd spend the evening watching. I was wrong.
I ran consistent 12.9's all evening.
not bad for a nearly stock car.

Real cars aren't engineered to have complimenting fenders to tuck tire. I'm sure the car is like ~2" from the ground but since little boy toucher VW fanboys like yourself pull on each others flaccid dicks at car specific meets, you wouldn't know the difference.

I really wish you'd read before you posted.
Clearly in the very first post I explained that the car was lower not slammed, and also explained that the drop was only one inch.
Yes, it is possible to make vettes lower than this. However, this was done using adjustments possible through factory chevrolet suspension.
Bsaint, that edit looks sick. If i were to set the car at the height somehow, the front lip would be folded over on the asphalt though...i could just take it off though :-p

Assumning youre talking to me, I know. I wasnt trying to trash your car or insult you or anything. I was simply making a joke followed by a compliment. Then Kevin had to make his way in making jealous comments and it went from there haha. Your car is sick, scraping the ground or not, and 12.9's....well thats impressive in my book. i wont be there for another $5000

well now that everyone is friends...
i think the car is gonna stay at this height for awhile.
i had to modify my driveway once so i could park safely in it, if i go any lower i'll have to do it again.
i'd like to close the fender to wheel gap a little more, but i do daily drive this thing so i don't wantt o make it much less practical than it already is
