View Full Version : Anybody have a Walbro 255 l/hr pump I can borrow right away (sunday)?

I'm doing a turbo install today and the walbro 255 pump that was supposed to go with it is in the mail and has yet to arrive. It'll probably show up monday. I can just go with the stock pump for now but I figured if anyone local has one laying around that I can borrow (or trade the used one I have in transit with) then maybe that'd be a little better.
Either way, its worth a post, right? The install will be going on most of the day tomorrow so if you see this and can help out please let me know. I'm in Langhorne, PA.
Thanks!
Bryan

What car is this for and how much PSI are you gonna run, also what kind of numbers are you looking at? I know with most stock cars the stock fuel pump can run like 8-10 PSI and 100 more HP stock. So unless your gonna push more you should be fine for now.

Im trying to say if he's not attempting to push huge numbers the stock fuel pump should be fine until he gets his new one in the mail.

By the way stop being a douchebag.

I would not recommend this, troll.

Do want you want Troll, but i have heard 240 hp turboed honda's pushing 11 PSI and being absolutely fine. But if your pushing much more then yeah I would look around for one. Unfortunately mine is still in the mail also so i wont have it until the middle of next week.

umm yea. troll has a wrx. , stock turbo. im sure he is pushing more then 10 psi right now. hell i was at 15 on my stock t25. but yea, either way, he really should get a fuel pump to help eliminate fuel problems such as fuel cut, and knock. my buddy tried to run a stock fuel pump on his turbo civic, and blew the turbo and motor within 70 miles of driving, and he didnt even boost it hard at all. stupid honduhs... haha j/k, i love hondas. but yea, troll get a fuel pump, sorry i dont have one to lend to you.

Heh, amazing how people can take a simple post requesting something and get into a discussion about the semantics behind it. He clearly stated that he is simply looking for one to either replace or take the place of (until it arrives) the one that he has already purchased. If no one can help him out, then he's stuck with the stock one until the other arrives. So, that being said, someone find one so I can see this thing in action before I have to go back to Baltimore!

I have an STI OEM fuel pump laying around. It's Cliff's, but I'm sure he doesn't have a use for it. They are good for almost all WRX turbo swaps.

You'll be fine temporarily as long as you don't push too much boost. Just be easy on it

its really not a good idea to push a honda motor to 240 whp with a stock fuel pump...
thats asking for trouble

hey guys, yeah, uh huh, its a VF34... want to race?

just kidding, it really is a VF34. install went well. we took our time and i learned a lot throughout the day which is the best part about installing stuff yourself. i dont have the pump yet but hopefully will get it within the next couple of days and then the real fun will begin. i just wanted to get the turbo on so i can drive normally with it for a few days and see if everything with it is good or not. i only really had the car running after the install for about 5 minutes and with all the coolant and oil we spilled, and the new downpipe heatwrap, there was plenty of smoke coming from that area, but of course i'll have to wait for that to burn off to know if things are fine or not.

Congrats!! Gotta be a good feeling to get the install done, here's to hoping it all works out once the smoke clears. Let us know how it feels :)

yeah i cant really go full throttle/boost because of the pump, but its fine to cruise around on for now, which is all i really want to do to see how things are going in the next few days.

so just to update, i have no desire to borrow a fuel pump now, mine will be here within the next couple of days hopefully and i'll install it then.

used to, but i sold it when i went from a user tuneable ems to a reflash type of setup. i do plan to have it custom tuned but the way its setup i dont have the ability to tweak anything. i have to take it to a shop that has special software to enable them to do it specifically with my ems.
there is a way to datalog but of course i wont get accurate AFRs without a wideband.
