yeah, that evo is not stock, I heard external wastegate quite a few times.

Lol its a bit hard to explain over the computer, in person with two cars with a external and one with a internal wastegate would be the best way to describe what it sounds like.

when you hear the turbo spool and it gets really loud like waaaahhhhhpppp wwwwwaaaaaaaahhhpp

might have been an o2 dump though, i have an internally gated turbo and an o2 dump and my car sound just like that.

I never comment on youtube but I couldn't resist in this case. That GTR driver is a moron for doing that.
he should have been on a track where that car belongs not on some local road. Atleast nobody got hurt.
The EVO driver is no better but atleast he wasn't dumb enough to crash!

on the EWG/IWG thing, the camera was mounted right near the exhaust on the EVO, so there is a definate change in exhaust tone when the WG opens up. Not saying he wasn't running an EWG but you can still hear an internally routed WG open up threw the exhaust, its just not a noticable as an external.

sucks for the gtr (i cant call it a skyline). id like to know the background of the story.. like how old/experienced the gtr driver is.
that evo is not rocking a o2dump or ewg.

I guess they don't have as much grip as everyone says they do. I hope the driver is okay though. And that Evolution is definitely not stock. Not only is an external wastegate can be easily heard, but that exhaust note is definitely not stock either. Only one good thing came out of this; one less R35 GT-R in the world.

its not the car its the driver. he made a bad decision trying to get the car to brake AND turn at the same time. :bigeek: Notice the EVO driver had no problems navigating that turn. :lol:

Damn that sucks, and i run and open waste gate dump and trust me you know the difference between an internal an external wg.....
As soon as the spring psi is reached inside the wg it opens up and just dumps exhaust in my case out the bottom of the wg,

It sounds EXACTLY like an exhaust leak coming out under your car, but if it is properly re-routed it makes no noise at all:)

That car does not have an external, yes it sounds raspy but the raspiness is continuous and due to the straight pipe...NOOBS :)

I agree. The Evo owner seemed like he knew how to control the car, and knew what he was doing behind the wheel. GT-R owner, did not.

But, if mommy and daddy got him the GT-R, I am sure that they will cover the repair costs.

That Evo doesn't sound open wastegate to me. That's just how they sound with a straight pipe. I have an open dump on mine, and ran a straight pipe at one time. It defiantly sounds like it has just a straight pipe.
